This 14.4V, 1500mAh Ni-MH battery is the backup power source for the GEZE Econodrive EL automatic door operator. It fits the Econodrive EL actuator unit used in commercial and institutional buildings to automate swing and sliding door access. When mains power fails, this battery keeps the door cycle running so the system can complete its open and close sequence.
- Econodrive EL compatibility: The Econodrive EL draws a specific voltage rail at 14.4V to drive its motor and maintain controller logic. This battery matches that rail exactly, with the correct cell count and connector orientation to seat in the OEM housing without modification.

This is normal firmware behaviour, not a fault with the battery or motor. If the door is slower than usual even on mains power, that is a separate issue — check the motor drive board, not the backup battery.
After fitting a new battery, the Econodrive EL still shows the same low-battery fault on the controller panel — what do I check?
The controller reads battery state through a voltage sense line, and if the replacement battery has not been charged before installation it will immediately register as low. Connect the door to mains power and allow a full 24-hour charge cycle with the battery seated in the unit. After charging, check the battery voltage at the connector pins — it should read between 14.4V and 16.8V at rest. If the fault persists after a confirmed full charge, check the sense wire terminal on the battery connector for corrosion or a loose crimp.
