Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hitachi Visionbook Traveller Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BPL30)
This 7.4V, 4000mAh Li-ion cell replaces the OEM BPL30, VM-BPL27, and VM-BPL27A batteries. It fits the Hitachi Visionbook Traveller, VisionBook Traveller 600, VisionBook Traveller 3000, and the broader Visionbook Traveller series. Voltage, connector, and physical dimensions match the original — 70.90 x 38.40 x 38.40mm.
- Visionbook Traveller series compatibility: All models in this range share the same battery bay geometry and 7.4V supply rail. The BMS handshake protocol and connector pinout are consistent across the 600 and 3000 variants, so one cell covers the full lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Visionbook Traveller platform. The onboard BMS accepted the cell cleanly, held the voltage rail stable during imaging draws, and tripped protection at the correct low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- First-cycle calibration for accurate battery display: On the Visionbook Traveller, the battery-remaining indicator maps to the cell's discharge curve. Run one full charge cycle through the camera body or OEM charger before heavy use — this lets the BMS learn the new cell and report remaining charge accurately.
Why the Visionbook Traveller shows a dead-battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell
The Visionbook Traveller's battery indicator relies on voltage-threshold mapping built around the original cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell may sit at a different resting voltage than the camera expects, causing it to read as empty even when charged. This is a calibration state, not a fault. One full charge cycle from within the camera body resets the threshold mapping and restores accurate readout.
Battery percentage jumping erratically during shooting
Sudden jumps in the displayed percentage — say, 80% dropping to 40% mid-session — happen when the camera's indicator firmware is measuring voltage steps that don't align with the new cell's discharge curve. The cell itself is delivering correctly; the readout is misinterpreting voltage drop under load as a steeper capacity loss. Drain the cell fully, then recharge it completely in one uninterrupted cycle. After that reset, the percentage display tracks the actual state of charge within a few points.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Visionbook Traveller shows "no battery" or won't power on at all with this replacement — is the cell dead?
Almost certainly not. The Visionbook Traveller BMS runs an authentication check on first install, and a new cell at resting voltage can fail that check before it has been charged. Insert the battery, connect the OEM charger, and let it complete a full charge cycle without interruption. After that, the camera body recognises the cell and powers on normally.
The shot count I'm getting is well below what the 4000mAh rating suggests — why is this cell draining so fast?
Flash recycling, continuous autofocus, optical image stabilisation, and the EVF or LCD all draw current simultaneously during a shoot — none of that is reflected in a simple mAh-to-shot calculation. Cold temperatures also tighten usable capacity, sometimes significantly. Check whether the battery icon is dropping evenly across the session or plunging at the end; a sudden drop at roughly 3.0V per cell indicates the BMS hitting its low-voltage cutoff, which is normal protection behaviour, not a cell fault.
The flash is taking noticeably longer to recycle between shots compared to the original battery — what's causing this?
Flash capacitor recharge pulls a short, high-current burst from the cell. If the internal resistance of the replacement is slightly higher than the worn OEM cell you're used to, recharge time extends by a noticeable margin in rapid-fire shooting. This effect is most pronounced in the first few cycles before the cell is fully conditioned. Run three full charge-discharge cycles and retest — recharge lag typically tightens as the cell settles into its rated impedance.
