Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Omen X 2S 15-DG0003NC — 11.55V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (DX06XL)
This is an 11.55V, 5900mAh (68.15Wh) lithium-polymer battery for the HP Omen X 2S gaming laptop. It replaces OEM part DX06XL, also cross-referenced as HSTNN-DB98, L32701-2C1, and L32749-00. It fits the Omen X 2S 15-DG0003NC, 15-DG0075CL, 15-DG0019TX, 15-DG0001NC, and additional variants in the same line.
- Omen X 2S 15-DG series compatibility: These models share the same 11.55V three-cell battery rail, the same physical connector, and the same BMS communication protocol. One cell part number — DX06XL — covers the full DG0xxx range because HP used an identical power architecture across all Omen X 2S 15-inch configurations.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an Omen X 2S unit under combined CPU and GPU load. The BMS held steady at the 11.55V nominal rail, accepted a full charge cycle without triggering a protection cutoff, and communicated cell data correctly back to the system board.
- First-cycle calibration on the Omen X 2S: After fitting, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff on battery power, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle. Without it, the system pulls stale EEPROM data from the old cell and flags the new one as degraded.
BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after swapping the DX06XL
When you replace the cell, the HP BIOS reads health data cached in the embedded controller — not live readings from the new cell. That cached EEPROM data reflects the worn-out battery you just removed. The health warning will persist until the BIOS completes a full learn cycle against the new cell's actual charge curve. Run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then a continuous charge to 100%, and the health flag clears.
Omen X 2S shutting down abruptly at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's voltage curve. The gauge still maps to the old cell's degraded profile, so it misreads the remaining capacity. Under a sudden load spike — GPU boost or CPU all-core — the actual cell voltage drops faster than the gauge expects, and the BMS triggers an emergency cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Two to three full discharge-and-charge cycles recalibrate the fuel gauge IC. After calibration, the cutoff point should align with readings below 5%.

Frequently Asked Questions
HP battery health utility still shows the old battery's cycle count after I installed this DX06XL — is that a fault?
No — the HP embedded controller caches cycle count and health data from the previous cell in EEPROM. It does not auto-clear on swap. Run a full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that learn cycle completes, the utility reads live data from the new cell and the cycle count resets to reflect the replacement.
The Omen X 2S fuel gauge reads wildly different percentages each time I boot — jumps from 60% to 85% between restarts. What causes this?
The fuel gauge IC on the Omen X 2S board calibrates itself against the charge and discharge curve of the installed cell. A brand-new cell has a different curve than the worn cell it replaced, so the IC's stored calibration no longer maps accurately. It takes two to three complete discharge-and-charge cycles for the IC to re-anchor its model. After those cycles, readings stabilise and stay consistent across reboots.
Windows is showing 68Wh in battery settings but HP Support Assistant reports a different Wh figure — which one is right?
Windows reads the Wh value directly from the cell's EEPROM register, which reflects the rated chemistry data written at manufacture — 68.15Wh for the DX06XL. HP Support Assistant sometimes pulls a calculated figure derived from the embedded controller's learned capacity model, which can read low before calibration is complete. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate then a full charge, and the Support Assistant figure will converge toward the 68.15Wh rating shown in Windows.
