Fits HTC H4242 and Converse 100 smartphones; replaces OEM part CONV160 and 35H00063-13M.
3.7V, 1100mAh capacity restores full charge cycles to the original HTC cell performance level.
Connector seats flush into the battery slot with single locking tab; polarity marked on pack.
We bench-tested this cell in the H4242 platform — BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes or charge limiting.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HTC H4242 / Converse 100 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CONV160)

This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell replacing the original CONV160 battery in the HTC H4242 and HTC Converse 100 smartphones. It restores capacity lost to cell ageing in phones that no longer hold a charge through a full day of calls and messaging. Voltage and footprint match the original: 45.15 × 37.29 × 6.52mm.

  • H4242 and Converse 100 compatibility: Both handsets run the same 3.7V power rail, share the CONV160 cell format, and use the same BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both devices without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the H4242 platform. The BMS accepted the new cell on first connect, and charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V with no false-full cutoffs detected.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before locking in percentage readings — skipping this step causes erratic percentage jumps for the first several cycles.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the HTC H4242 after a cell swap

The H4242's fuel gauge IC holds a discharge model calibrated to the original cell's internal resistance curve. A new cell has lower impedance, so the IC underestimates remaining capacity and calls a low-voltage cutoff earlier than the true state of charge warrants. The modem radio is the usual trigger — it draws a short current spike that pulls cell voltage below the cutoff threshold the IC has set based on stale data. One full uninterrupted discharge cycle from 100% to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge, resets the coulomb counter and eliminates the premature cutoff.

Phone not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage, and if the CONV160 cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent further discharge damage. The H4242 will show no signs of life — no boot screen, no charge indicator. Connect the phone to a wall charger rather than a PC port, since a wall adapter supplies consistent 5V at sufficient current to wake the BMS trickle-charge circuit. Leave it connected for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the BMS needs cell voltage above 3.0V before it releases the lockout and allows normal charging to resume.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my HTC H4242 showing the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC inside the H4242 stores a discharge model built from hundreds of cycles on the original cell. A fresh CONV160 has a different internal resistance profile, so the IC maps percentage against the wrong curve and displays inaccurate readings. Run one complete cycle — drain the phone to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — without interrupting either phase. After that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged the replacement battery — what happened?

On the first charge cycle with a new cell, the BMS in the CONV160 communicates its state-of-health to the charge IC, which may not yet trust the new cell enough to enable the higher-current charge path. This is a one-cycle handshake behaviour, not a fault. Charge the phone once at standard speed using a basic 5V adapter rather than a fast-charge brick. On the second cycle, reconnect the fast charger — the charge IC will accept the elevated current once it has logged one complete charge profile from the new cell.

The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?

A new Li-ion cell at full capacity has lower internal impedance than a degraded original, so the charge IC briefly over-drives current into it during the first few cycles while the charging algorithm adjusts. This produces mild warmth at the battery compartment — not heat at the screen or processor area. If the warmth is localised to the battery cover and fades after the first two or three full charges, no action is needed. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or shuts down during charging, stop immediately and check that the connector is fully seated and not misaligned.
