Fits Hytera TC-700, TC-700U, TC-780, TC-780M, TC-710 and related models; replaces OEM part BL-2608.
7.4V, 1600mAh lithium-ion delivers 11.84Wh — maintains transmit power across full shift without voltage sag.
Slide-lock connector seats vertically into radio battery door; gold contact strip faces radio frame; tab clicks firmly home.
We bench-tested this pack in a TC-700 transceiver; BMS accepted dock handshake on first insertion without fault LED.
On first charge with the Hytera multi-bay dock, if a bar indicator shows one fewer bar than expected, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat — the radio needs clean contact registration before voltage stabilizes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hytera TC-700 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-2608)

This is a 7.4V, 1600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Hytera TC-700, TC-700U, TC-780, TC-780M, and TC-710 two-way radios. It uses OEM part number BL-2608 and slots directly into the battery bay on these portable transceivers. The 11.84Wh cell chemistry matches the original pack specification for this platform.

  • TC-700 series compatibility: The TC-700, TC-700U, TC-780, TC-780M, and TC-710 share the same 7.4V battery rail, BL-2608 connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack fits the entire lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and transmit-load cycles on a TC-700 unit. The BMS accepted the charger handshake without fault and held voltage above the radio's low-battery threshold under sustained PTT load.
  • Contact strip insertion on first use: Before seating the pack in the charger dock for the first time, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth. The Hytera TC-700 dock requires a clean contact surface to complete the BMS handshake — a residue-covered strip can trigger a fault LED that won't clear until the contacts are cleaned and the pack reseated.

Why the TC-700 cuts out mid-transmission on a new BL-2608 pack

A new Li-ion cell ships at storage voltage — typically 3.6–3.7V per cell, not full charge. When the TC-700 draws transmit current from a pack at storage voltage, the BMS can read that load-induced voltage sag as a low-cell condition and cut the output. This is a BMS protection trip, not a faulty battery. Fully charge the pack before first field use and the cutout behaviour will not repeat.

Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected after fitting a new pack

The TC-700 uses a voltage-threshold bar indicator — each bar corresponds to a voltage window, not a calculated percentage. A new pack fresh from storage sits below the top threshold, so the radio displays one bar short of full even though the cell is not depleted. Put the pack through one full charge cycle in the dock until the charger LED goes green. After that first charge, the indicator will read correctly against the cell's actual voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TC-700 dock shows a fault LED the moment I insert the new BL-2608 — it never starts charging. What's wrong?

The TC-700 charger dock checks the battery contact voltage before initiating charge. If the gold contact strip on the new pack has any residue or oxidation from shipping, the dock reads an incomplete circuit and throws a fault LED. Remove the pack, wipe the contact strip firmly with a dry cloth, and reseat it. If the fault clears and charging begins, no further action is needed — the dock will complete the BMS handshake and begin the charge cycle normally.

The radio drops to noticeably weaker transmit output mid-shift, even though the battery bar still shows two bars. Is the pack failing?

This is voltage sag under sustained RF load, not a failing cell. When the TC-700 transmits for extended periods, draw is high enough that cell voltage dips temporarily below the TX power threshold, causing the radio to pull back output to protect the BMS — even though resting voltage looks fine between transmissions. Check the pack's resting voltage with a multimeter after a shift; it should recover above 7.2V. If it does, the cell is healthy — shorten sustained PTT bursts and allow brief recovery gaps between long transmissions.

The new battery won't trigger any charging response at all after the radio sat unused in storage for several months — dock LED stays dark. Is the pack dead?

Extended storage can push a Li-ion cell below the dock's acceptance voltage threshold, and the BMS locks out to prevent unsafe charging of a deeply discharged cell. The dock shows no response because it's detecting a pack below ~6.0V and refusing to engage. Some Hytera chargers include a recovery or "wake" mode — consult the dock label for a recovery LED sequence. If your dock supports it, hold the pack in the dock for 10–15 minutes; recovery trickle charge will bring the cell back above the acceptance threshold and normal charging will begin.
