Fits Intek KT-950EE portable radios; replaces OEM battery LN-950 directly.
3.7V, 1200mAh cell powers sustained transmission cycles on this UHF band radio without voltage sag.
Slides into the KT-950EE pack slot with a latching tab on the left side; connector is recessed.
We bench-tested this cell in a KT-950EE charger dock; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault light.
On first charge insertion, if the dock shows a fault LED, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip clean, and reseat firmly — the KT-950EE requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Intek KT-950EE — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LN-950)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Intek KT-950EE two-way radio. It replaces OEM part number LN-950 and fits directly into the KT-950EE battery bay. Voltage and form factor match the original pack at 53.60 x 35.60 x 6.40mm.

  • KT-950EE platform fit: The KT-950EE runs a single-cell 3.7V nominal architecture. This pack matches that voltage rail and uses the same connector orientation and BMS logic the radio expects during power-on handshake.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a KT-950EE unit. The BMS accepted full charge without cutoff errors, and the radio powered on cleanly from a rested storage voltage.
  • First insertion on the KT-950EE charger dock: If the dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The dock requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before it begins charging.

KT-950EE bar indicator showing fewer bars than expected on a new LN-950 pack

New Li-ion cells ship at storage voltage — typically 3.6V to 3.7V — not at a full 4.2V charge. The KT-950EE uses a voltage-threshold bar indicator, so a pack at storage voltage will display one or two bars even though the cell is not depleted. This is not a fault with the battery. Run a full charge cycle first, and the indicator will reflect the actual charge state correctly.

KT-950EE cuts out or drops transmission when PTT is held

Pressing PTT on the KT-950EE draws a sharp current spike to power the transmitter. If the cell is below roughly 3.5V or the BMS detects an overcurrent condition, it can cut power mid-transmission to protect the cell. A degraded original pack will trigger this repeatedly under sustained RF output. Swap to a fully charged replacement and verify the cutout stops — if it does, the original cell's capacity had dropped below the radio's transmit threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My KT-950EE charger dock is blinking a fault LED and won't start charging the new LN-950 — what's wrong?

The dock fault LED usually means the pack voltage is below the charger's acceptance threshold, or the contacts didn't make a clean connection on insertion. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat it firmly. If the LED clears and charging begins, the contact cycle was incomplete on first insertion. If the fault persists, charge the pack briefly with a compatible Li-ion charger at 3.7V to bring it above the dock's minimum acceptance voltage, then reinsert.

The KT-950EE loses power completely when I press PTT hard during a long transmission — is the new battery causing this?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a defective cell. The transmit current spike on PTT can exceed the BMS cutoff threshold if the pack is still at storage voltage or if the radio's RF output is set high. Fully charge the pack before the first use and check whether the cutout stops. If the radio has adjustable TX power, drop it one level and retest — this reduces the peak current draw that triggers the BMS.

The new LN-950 pack went into storage for a few weeks and now the KT-950EE won't recognise it at all — how do I recover it?

Extended storage below roughly 3.0V can push the cell into a state where the BMS locks out to prevent damage, and the radio sees no pack at all. Use a Li-ion charger that supports a low-voltage recovery or "wake" mode — apply a trickle charge at 3.7V until the cell climbs above 3.2V. Once the BMS re-initialises, the KT-950EE will recognise the pack and the dock will accept it for a normal charge cycle.
