Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kyocera KOI / KX2 / SoHo — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TXBAT10052)
This 3.7V 750mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Kyocera KOI, KX2, and SoHo handsets. All three share the same battery bay, connector, and BMS communication protocol. Capacity is 750mAh (2.78Wh), matching the original specification.
- KOI, KX2, and SoHo compatibility: These three Kyocera models run the same voltage rail and use an identical physical connector and BMS handshake. One cell fits all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a full charge and load discharge on a KOI unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes and the charge IC held a steady taper current to 4.2V cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to auto-shutoff before recharging. The KOI's fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against the first full discharge curve — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings for the first several days of use.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the KOI after a cell swap
The KOI's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the old cell. When a new cell with different internal impedance goes in, the IC's voltage-to-percentage map is wrong. Under modem or screen load, voltage drops faster than the IC expects, and the phone shuts off before it reads zero. One full discharge-recharge cycle forces the IC to relearn the new cell's curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% stop.
Phone shows full charge but dies within minutes of unplugging
This happens when the original cell has degraded to the point where it accepts a charge current and reaches 4.2V quickly — giving the illusion of a full charge — but actual capacity is a fraction of rated 750mAh. The charge IC measures voltage, not capacity. Swapping in a fresh 750mAh cell and running one full discharge cycle will restore accurate percentage reporting. Confirm recovery by checking that the phone sustains voltage above 3.6V under screen-on load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My KOI powers off at around 25% after I put the new battery in — is the cell defective?
The cell is not defective. The KOI's fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it mapped to the old, degraded cell. When the new cell's voltage drops faster under modem or display load than the IC expects, it triggers a low-voltage shutoff before the percentage hits zero. Run one full discharge to auto-shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle forces the coulomb counter to remap against the new cell's actual curve.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months before I installed it.
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if this one dropped below 2.5V per cell, the BMS has locked out to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 30–45 minutes before pressing the power button — the charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell and bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold of roughly 3.0V. If the charge LED never lights, try a different USB cable and port, since the KOI's charge circuit draws very little current at first and some ports cut off low-draw connections.
The battery percentage on my KOI jumps around erratically — shows 60%, then 80%, then 45% within a few minutes.
Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a faulty battery. The IC's stored discharge curve no longer matches the new cell's impedance profile, so voltage readings translate to wildly different percentage estimates as load shifts. Do not top up the battery or partial-charge it during this period. Run the phone from 100% down to automatic shutoff in one session, then charge fully — the IC resets its reference points from that single complete cycle and percentage readings stabilise.
