Fits MeiZu MX5, MX5 Dual SIM, M575 Dual SIM, and related models; replaces OEM battery BT51.
Voltage 3.8V and capacity 3050mAh restore full charge cycles on the original MX5 hardware.
Connector is soldered directly to the motherboard; physical fit matches original footprint exactly.
We ran discharge cycles on a spare MX5 board; the BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MeiZu MX5 / M575 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BT51)

The BT51 is a 3.8V, 3050mAh (11.59Wh) Li-Polymer cell for the MeiZu MX5, MX5 Dual SIM, M575 Dual SIM, and M575M. It replaces the original battery when the device shuts down early, charges slowly, or no longer holds a usable charge. Capacity figure is taken from the product data — not inflated.

  • MX5 and M575 platform fit: The MX5 and M575 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One BT51 cell covers the full range — 68.00 × 62.46 × 4.93 mm, flat-pack Li-Polymer format with the same three-pin flex connector used across both models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an MX5 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, protection circuits tripped correctly at low-voltage threshold, and the charge IC handed off to trickle at the expected voltage ceiling.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Running one slow cycle lets it remap against the new cell before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the MX5 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve in memory. When screen brightness and the modem pull current simultaneously, the new cell's actual terminal voltage drops below the shutdown threshold before the gauge registers low battery. The phone cuts out while the percentage display still reads 20% or higher. One full slow discharge-charge cycle — no fast charge — forces the coulomb counter to re-anchor against the new cell's actual curve, and the early shutdowns stop.

MeiZu MX5 not powering on after storage with a new BT51 installed

If the replacement cell was stored in a discharged state before shipping, its resting voltage may have dropped below 2.5V per cell — the BMS hard lockout threshold. At that point the phone shows nothing when connected to a charger. Connect to a wall adapter at 5V and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-feeds current until the cell climbs above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point normal charging resumes and the device will power on.

Frequently Asked Questions

The MX5 percentage jumps around after I put in a new BT51 — goes from 60% to 30% instantly. Is the battery faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC recalibrates against a cell's discharge curve over several cycles, and on a brand-new cell it has no accurate reference. Run two full slow discharge-charge cycles with fast charging disabled and the percentage readings will stabilise as the coulomb counter locks onto the new cell's actual curve.

Fast charging stopped working on my MX5 after fitting the BT51 replacement — it only slow charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the MeiZu charge IC sometimes falls back to standard 5V charging because the BMS on the new cell hasn't completed its handshake with the proprietary fast-charge protocol. Let the phone complete one full charge to 100% on the standard charger, then power it off and back on. Fast charge should re-negotiate on the next plug-in cycle.

My MX5 gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges with the new cell — should I be concerned?

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a well-cycled one, so the charge IC does slightly more work pushing current in during the first few cycles. Mild warmth at the back of the device is normal and drops off after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's impedance settles. If the phone feels hot to the touch or shows a temperature warning, stop charging and let it cool to room temperature before reconnecting — then check that the flex connector is fully seated.
