Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1EG-S Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CGA-S007)
This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion cell built to replace the CGA-S007 battery in Panasonic Lumix compact cameras. It fits the DMC-TZ1EG-S and a wide range of TZ and DMC-series bodies. Physical dimensions match the OEM cell at 36.95 x 30.10 x 12.35mm, so it seats fully in the battery compartment without modification.
- TZ and DMC-series compatibility: These bodies share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V power rail, and CGA-S007 connector footprint. The BMS in each camera reads cell voltage through the same contact arrangement, so one cell works across the full TZ1, TZ2, TZ3, TZ4, TZ5, and related DMC lines.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Lumix BMS and confirmed charge acceptance, full voltage delivery at 3.7V nominal, and clean cutoff at the low-voltage threshold — no erratic shutdown mid-session.
- First-use charge cycle on TZ-series bodies: Run the first charge inside the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. The TZ-series BMS maps battery-remaining percentage to the cell's discharge curve during that initial cycle — skipping it causes the indicator to jump or read inaccurately from the start.
Flash capacitor recharge sag at low cell charge on the TZ1EG-S
The TZ1EG-S flash circuit pulls a short high-current burst to recharge the capacitor between shots. As cell charge drops toward the lower end of the discharge curve, internal resistance rises and the voltage briefly sags during that recharge draw. The camera body may flag a low-battery warning or slow the shot interval even when the indicator still shows charge remaining. If flash recycle feels sluggish, check cell voltage — below roughly 3.5V under load, the sag becomes noticeable.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the Lumix display after fitting a new cell
This happens because the camera's fuel gauge maps percentage to a discharge curve calibrated to its previous cell. A new cell with a slightly different discharge profile throws off the voltage-to-percentage translation at mid-charge levels. The indicator stabilises after one or two full charge-discharge cycles, once the BMS has mapped the new cell's actual curve. Charge to 100% in the camera body, shoot until the camera shuts off, then charge again — the readout should track accurately from that point.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Lumix TZ1EG-S shows a dead battery icon immediately after fitting this replacement — is the cell faulty?
Not necessarily. The TZ-series BMS runs an authentication check on first install and can reject an unrecognised cell before it has been charged via the camera body. Place the battery in the camera, connect to the OEM charger or USB charge through the body, and let it complete a full charge cycle. Most "no battery" or dead-icon rejections clear after that first in-camera charge cycle.
The shot count on my TZ1EG-S is noticeably lower than I expected from a 1000mAh cell — why?
Shot count drops fast when the flash fires frequently, optical image stabilisation is active, and continuous autofocus is running simultaneously — all three draw current beyond the base camera load. The rated capacity is correct at 1000mAh, but combined accessory draw can cut the usable shot count well below the CIPA figure. To extend capacity per charge, switch to natural light where possible and use single-shot AF instead of continuous tracking.
The TZ1EG-S battery depletes much faster in cold weather with this replacement than it did with the original — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. Li-ion chemistry loses available capacity as temperature drops because ion mobility in the electrolyte slows — the effect is temporary, not permanent damage. At temperatures below around 10°C, keep the camera inside a jacket pocket between shots to hold the cell closer to operating temperature. Capacity returns to normal once the cell warms back above 15°C.
