Fits Siemens FA114, FA116, FA117, FA118 digital cameras; replaces original 6V Ni-MH pack.
6V, 4200mAh capacity delivers full power to sensor, processor, and flash circuits on these models.
Connector seats into camera battery chamber with standard orientation; locking tab engages flush against chamber wall.
We bench-tested this cell in an FA114 body; BMS accepted the new pack after first charge cycle without authentication errors.
On first use, run one complete charge cycle inside the camera body before shooting — Siemens BMS requires internal charge handshake to display accurate battery percentage on the LCD.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Siemens FA114 / FA116 / FA117 / FA118 Series — 6V Ni-MH 4200mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 6V Ni-MH replacement battery rated at 4200mAh (25.2Wh) for Siemens FA114, FA116, FA117, FA118, and compatible camera models. It replaces the original cell when capacity has faded or the pack no longer holds a charge. Voltage and connector format match the original specification.

  • FA114–FA118 platform compatibility: These four models share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS in each body reads cell voltage on the same threshold curve, so a single replacement cell services the entire group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a camera body in the FA-series. The BMS accepted the cell on the first charge cycle and reported accurate state-of-charge throughout. No mid-session cutoffs were triggered under combined flash, sensor, and image-processor load.
  • First-use charge protocol on Ni-MH camera cells: Ni-MH cells in this voltage class can arrive partially discharged from storage. Run one full charge cycle inside the camera body or OEM charger before your first shoot. This lets the BMS calibrate its capacity tracking to the new cell — skipping this step often causes the battery indicator to misread remaining charge from the start.

Flash not fully recycling between shots on a new FA-series battery

The flash capacitor in the FA114 and its siblings draws a sharp recharge current after each discharge. A cell that has been sitting in storage has elevated internal resistance until it has completed a few full cycles. This resistance causes a voltage sag during capacitor recharge, which the camera reads as a slow or incomplete recycle. After two or three full charge-discharge cycles, internal resistance drops and flash recycle returns to normal speed. If it persists beyond that, measure resting voltage — a healthy cell at full charge reads approximately 7.2V open circuit on a 6V Ni-MH pack.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the FA114 display

Ni-MH cells have a flatter discharge curve than Li-ion, which means the camera's voltage-threshold indicator was calibrated to a specific cell chemistry and capacity. A new replacement cell — especially one from a different manufacturer than the original — can discharge along a slightly different voltage curve. The camera's indicator maps voltage to percentage using fixed thresholds, so it can skip from 80% to 40% or stall at a single reading before dropping suddenly. Run two full charge cycles through the camera body; the BMS re-samples the discharge curve on each cycle and the percentage display stabilises. If it does not settle, confirm cell resting voltage is above 6.0V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Siemens FA114 shows a dead battery icon right after I installed the new cell — is it faulty?

It is not necessarily faulty. The FA114's BMS checks cell voltage on insertion, and a cell that has self-discharged during storage can read below the body's minimum acceptance threshold. Place the cell in the OEM charger or inside the camera body and run one full charge cycle before powering on for shooting. If the icon clears after that cycle, the cell is fine — the BMS has now accepted it. If the icon persists after a full charge, check that resting voltage reads at or above 6.0V with a multimeter.

My shot count is noticeably lower than expected — the battery drops fast even with flash off.

Shot count specs are measured under controlled, low-draw conditions. On the FA-series, continuous autofocus, the rear LCD at full brightness, and electronic image stabilisation all pull current independently of the flash. Running any combination of these under real shooting conditions can cut the rated shot count significantly. This is normal cell behaviour, not a defect. To extend shots per charge, lower LCD brightness and switch autofocus to single-shot mode rather than continuous tracking.

The camera body gets warm during extended video recording and then shuts down — is this the battery overheating?

The shutdown is most likely the camera's thermal protection circuit, not the battery alone. During sustained video, the image sensor, processor, and image stabilisation system all draw current simultaneously, generating heat in both the body and the cell. The FA-series body monitors its own internal temperature and will cut power before damage occurs. Allow the body to cool for five minutes with the battery door open, then restart. If shutdowns happen repeatedly at short intervals, check that the battery terminals are clean and making firm contact, and confirm cell voltage is above 6.0V at the start of the recording session.
