Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony Xperia XZ / F8331 / F8332 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (LIS1632ERPC)
This is a 3.8V, 2850mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Sony Xperia XZ, Xperia XZ Dual SIM, F8331, and F8332. It fits the same physical slot and uses the same connector as the original LIS1632ERPC cell. When the factory battery can no longer hold charge through a full day, this cell restores that capacity.
- Xperia XZ and XZ Dual SIM compatibility: The F8331 (single SIM) and F8332 (Dual SIM) share an identical battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake profile. Both accept this cell without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an F8332 unit. The BMS accepted charge without fault codes, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff as expected.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated cell state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Xperia XZ after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. A new cell has a steeper voltage drop curve than the aged cell the fuel gauge IC was trained on. Under modem or screen load, voltage sags below the shutdown threshold faster than the gauge predicts. The phone cuts out even though the displayed percentage still reads above zero. One full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging off forces the coulomb counter to re-map the new cell curve and eliminates most false shutdowns.
USB-PD fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
Sony's Quick Charge handshake on the XZ requires the BMS to report a valid cell state before the charge IC negotiates high-current delivery. On a brand-new cell at a low state of charge, the BMS can flag an uncalibrated status and the charger falls back to standard 5V/0.9A input. This is not a fault with the cell or the charger. Charge the phone fully once on a standard charger, then allow a complete discharge to around 5%, and fast charging will engage normally on the following cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Xperia XZ shows the battery percentage jumping around erratically after I put the new cell in — is something wrong with it?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC in the XZ is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original battery, and a new cell behaves differently under load until the IC re-maps it. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that cycle, the coulomb counter has enough data to track the new cell accurately and the percentage readout stabilises.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges after replacement — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth on the first few charge cycles is expected with a new high-impedance Li-Polymer cell. The charge IC applies the same current profile it used on a well-cycled cell, but a fresh cell's internal resistance is slightly higher, which generates more heat during the constant-current phase. If the phone stays warm throughout the full charge and doesn't cool down near the top of the cycle, check that the back cover is seated properly and not trapping heat. Normal skin temperature during charging is below 40°C — if it exceeds that consistently, stop and inspect the installation.
The Xperia XZ won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — how do I recover it?
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below 2.5V the BMS will have locked out to prevent damage to the cell. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell at low current until voltage climbs above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.8–3.0V, at which point the BMS unlocks and normal charging resumes. If the screen shows no charge indicator after 30 minutes, try a different cable and charger before concluding the cell is at fault.
