Fits Vodafone VPA Compact II, replaces OEM battery WIZA16.
3.7V and 2350mAh capacity delivers adequate runtime for calls, messaging, and light app use.
Connector seats flush into the VPA Compact II battery slot with standard Li-ion orientation and positive terminal contact.
We bench-tested this cell against a discharged OEM pack — BMS accepted charge on first insertion with no fault codes or delayed acceptance.
On first use, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone VPA Compact II — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (WIZA16)

This is a 3.7V, 2350mAh Li-ion cell that replaces the WIZA16 battery in the Vodafone VPA Compact II smartphone. It fits the original battery bay directly and connects to the same charge IC and fuel gauge circuitry. Use this when the original cell no longer holds adequate charge or the phone shuts down unexpectedly under load.

  • VPA Compact II platform fit: The VPA Compact II uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion architecture with a hardwired connector tied to the onboard charge IC. This cell matches that voltage rail and connector pinout, so the BMS handshake completes without errors on boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the VPA Compact II platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first connect, charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage, and no protection cutoff events fired during load testing.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After fitting this cell, disable any fast-charge mode and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. The fuel gauge IC on the VPA Compact II calibrates its coulomb counter against the cell's discharge curve — skipping this step causes the percentage display to read inaccurately for the first several cycles.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

The VPA Compact II's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage drop profile of the replacement. Under modem or screen load, the new cell's voltage dips faster than the IC predicts, crossing the hardware cutoff threshold before the percentage display reaches zero. The phone shuts off to protect the cell even though the reported percentage looks safe. One complete discharge-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to relearn the new cell's curve. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% stop.

Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges

A new Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a conditioned one. During the first charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into that higher-impedance cell, and more energy converts to heat than it will once the cell is broken in. This is normal and resolves after three to five full charge cycles as impedance drops. If the phone stays warm beyond the fifth charge or feels hot rather than warm, stop charging and check the USB connection for debris causing partial contact and elevated resistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

My VPA Compact II won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the battery dead?

The WIZA16 cell has almost certainly dropped below 2.5V in storage, which trips the BMS into lockout mode to prevent cell damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 30 to 45 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC on the VPA Compact II will trickle-charge the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point the phone will boot normally.

The battery percentage on my VPA Compact II jumps around erratically — it shows 60%, then suddenly drops to 15% with no warning.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unconditioned cell. The coulomb counter inside the phone was calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell — the new 2350mAh cell has a different curve, so the percentage estimate loses accuracy under varying loads. Run two full discharge cycles from 100% down until the phone shuts itself off, then charge back to 100% without interruption each time. After those two cycles the IC updates its reference curve and the percentage display stabilises.

I plugged in my VPA Compact II after fitting the new battery but charging stops well before 100% — the phone says it's full at around 80%.

The charge IC is using a stored termination threshold calibrated to the worn-out original cell, which had a lower full-charge voltage ceiling. The new cell needs a clean reference cycle before the IC recognises its true full-charge voltage. Drain the phone fully until it shuts off, then charge in one uninterrupted session to 100% with the screen off. That single cycle resets the termination reference and the charge IC will accept the full capacity of the 2350mAh cell on subsequent charges.
