Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sharp W-ZERO3 / WS003SH / WS004SH — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PV-BL11 / EA-BL12)
This is a 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion battery for the Sharp W-ZERO3 series, covering the WS003SH and WS004SH variants. It replaces OEM part numbers PV-BL11 and EA-BL12. The W-ZERO3 is a Windows Mobile smartphone, and this cell restores power to its processor, display, and wireless stack when the original cell has degraded past usable capacity.
- W-ZERO3 series compatibility: The WS003SH and WS004SH share the same battery bay, connector pitch, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the W-ZERO3 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC cycled correctly through trickle, constant-current, and constant-voltage phases.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after fitting this cell. The W-ZERO3 fuel gauge IC calibrates its discharge curve on that first full pass — running high current into an uncalibrated cell produces inaccurate percentage readings from the start.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the W-ZERO3 after a cell swap
The W-ZERO3 shuts down abruptly at apparent percentages between 20% and 30% because the fuel gauge IC is still tracking the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. A fresh cell holds a higher voltage deeper into its discharge range than the gauge expects. When the modem transmits or the display backlight peaks, current draw spikes and voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts — the BMS trips before the reported percentage hits zero. One full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle lets the coulomb counter re-anchor to the new cell's actual curve and eliminates this behaviour.
W-ZERO3 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if a replacement cell drops below approximately 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS locks out to prevent damage — the phone shows no sign of life when you press the power button. Connect the device to a wall charger rather than a USB port; wall chargers supply consistent 5V at higher current, which is enough to push the BMS out of lockout and begin trickle charging. Leave it on the charger undisturbed for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on. If the charge LED does not light within five minutes of connecting the charger, reseat the battery and reconnect.

Frequently Asked Questions
My W-ZERO3 shows the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new cell — is the battery faulty?
The battery is not faulty. The W-ZERO3 fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old cell, so its percentage readings are inaccurate against the new one. Run one full uninterrupted discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts itself off — then charge it to 100% without interruption. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter resets its reference and percentage reporting stabilises.
The W-ZERO3 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is this normal?
Some warmth during the first few charge cycles is expected. A new cell starts with higher internal impedance than a conditioned one, and the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat while it works through the constant-current phase. The temperature should drop noticeably by the third cycle as the cell conditions. If the device becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, or if warmth persists beyond the first three charges, remove the battery and check that the contacts are fully seated and clean.
The W-ZERO3 won't accept a fast charge on the first cycle after I installed the replacement battery — what's happening?
On the first cycle, the BMS on a new cell has not yet confirmed a stable voltage baseline, so the charge IC defaults to a conservative charge rate rather than engaging the higher-current profile. This is the BMS protecting an uncalibrated cell, not a fault. Complete one full slow charge to 100% without using a fast-charge adapter. On the second cycle, connect your fast-charge source — by then the BMS has logged a complete charge pass and will accept the higher current rate.
