Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE Grand X 3 / Z959 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (Li3831T43P4H826247)
This is a 3.8V, 2500mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original battery in the ZTE Grand X 3, Grand X 3 LTE, Z959, and Zmax Champ. It fits the same footprint as the OEM unit at 81.30 × 61.90 × 4.70mm. If your Grand X 3 is shutting down unexpectedly, losing charge quickly, or won't hold any charge at all, this cell addresses the failed original.
- Grand X 3 / Z959 platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full variant list including the LTE and Zmax Champ without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Grand X 3 platform and confirmed the BMS accepts the charge handshake correctly, with no cutoff trips during a standard draw cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Grand X 3 after a cell swap
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still running its lookup table against the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell hits a voltage cliff under modem or display load before the OS registers low battery. The phone cuts out because actual cell voltage drops below the protection threshold while the OS still shows 20–30% remaining. Running one full discharge cycle without fast charging forces the coulomb counter to rebuild its reference table against the new cell.
Device not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if voltage drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS trips a lockout to prevent damage to the cell. The phone will show nothing on screen — no charge indicator, no boot. Connect the phone to a wall charger rated at least 5V/1A and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage climbs above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ZTE Grand X 3 keeps jumping between battery percentages after I put in the new cell — is something wrong with it?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC on the Grand X 3 uses a coulomb counter calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, and after a swap it doesn't yet have reference data for the new cell. Percentage readings will be erratic until the IC rebuilds that map. Run one full discharge from 100% down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled — after that cycle, the readings stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working on my Grand X 3 the first time I plugged in after replacing the battery — what happened?
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC may not negotiate the fast-charge protocol until it has completed one baseline charge pass with the new cell. This is normal behaviour — the USB-PD or proprietary charge handshake requires a completed cycle before the controller unlocks higher current delivery. Charge the phone fully on a standard 5V/1A adapter first, then reconnect your fast charger on the second cycle.
The back of my Grand X 3 feels warm near the battery while it's charging after the replacement — should I be concerned?
A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which means the charge IC works slightly harder during early cycles and generates more heat. This warmth typically reduces after three to five charge cycles as cell impedance drops. If the phone feels hot to the touch rather than warm, or if warmth persists past five cycles, check that the replacement cell dimensions are seated flush and the connector is fully engaged — a partial connection increases resistance at the terminal and amplifies heat.
