Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dorma ES90 / ES100 Series — 9.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (TO1007)
This 9.6V 1200mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the backup power cell in Dorma ES90 and ES100 automatic door operators, as well as ADT006 and ADT007 control units. It keeps the door controller powered through mains failures, allowing the door to complete its open and close cycles and maintain safety functions. OEM part numbers TO1007, 80100302, ATD007, 300011, and MGN0208 all cross-reference to this cell.
- ES90, ES100, ADT006, ADT007 fitment: These Dorma controllers share the same 9.6V backup rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the entire group — no wiring modification required.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through simulated mains-fail events on the ES90 platform. The BMS held voltage above the controller's low-voltage cutoff and did not trip during a full open-and-close cycle under motor load.
- Post-install power-fail verification: After fitting, manually trigger a power-fail test during a low-traffic period. Automatic door backup batteries must prove they can complete a full door cycle under motor load before the door returns to normal service — do not skip this step.
Door controller losing its programming after a power outage
The ES90 and ES100 store open-speed, close-speed, and hold-time parameters in volatile RAM. That RAM relies on the backup battery to retain its contents when mains power drops. A depleted or failed backup cell means those settings vanish the moment power cuts out. If your controller keeps reverting to factory defaults after outages, replace the backup battery before reprogramming — otherwise the settings will be lost again at the next interruption.
Door moving noticeably slower during a backup power event
The Dorma controller deliberately reduces motor drive current when running on battery backup — this is a firmware-level load management behaviour, not a fault. The door will open and close more slowly than on mains power to protect the backup cell from rapid discharge. If the door is slower than usual but still completes a full cycle, the battery and controller are functioning correctly. If the door stalls mid-cycle or reverses unexpectedly, check the backup battery voltage under load — it should hold above 8.4V during motor operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Dorma ES90 reprogrammed itself after the power went out — why does it keep losing its settings?
The ES90 stores door parameters in volatile RAM backed entirely by this 9.6V battery. When the cell drops below the controller's minimum voltage threshold, RAM loses power and settings reset to factory defaults. Replacing the depleted backup battery is the fix — not reprogramming. After fitting the new cell, give it a full 24-hour charge before the next power interruption.
The door backup system isn't activating at all when mains power fails — what's wrong?
The backup circuit requires the battery to be at or near full charge before it will engage. A deeply discharged Ni-MH cell can sit at a voltage that passes a static check but collapses the moment the motor draws current, causing the backup circuit to drop out immediately. Charge the new battery for a full 24 hours after installation, then manually cut mains power and confirm the door completes one full open-and-close cycle before returning it to service.
The door stalls halfway through its open cycle when running on battery — is this the battery or the motor?
A mid-cycle stall on backup power almost always points to the battery, not the motor. The Dorma controller monitors battery voltage in real time; if it sags below approximately 8.4V under motor-start load, the controller cuts the drive signal to protect the cell. A worn or partially discharged Ni-MH battery cannot sustain the current draw at motor start. Replace the backup battery, charge it fully for 24 hours, and run a power-fail test to confirm it holds voltage through the complete cycle.
