Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alecto DBX-60 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (P002009)

This 3.7V, 600mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original power cell in the Alecto DBX-60 baby monitor parent unit. It matches OEM part numbers P002009 and LP062937. When the original cell degrades, the parent unit loses charge capacity quickly — this battery restores normal operation.

  • DBX-60 parent unit fit: The DBX-60 parent unit uses a compact Li-Polymer cell at 3.7V nominal. The 40.50 x 34.90 x 4.00mm footprint matches the original battery bay, and the connector and BMS communication line match the factory spec.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the DBX-60 parent unit. The BMS accepted charge from the dock without fault flags, and the unit powered on cleanly at full charge.
  • Re-pair after swapping the battery: The DBX-60 parent unit loses its wireless link to the camera unit when power is cut completely. After fitting this battery, place both units within 1 metre and run the pairing sequence from the parent unit menu before moving them apart.

Parent unit battery draining overnight on the DBX-60

The DBX-60 parent unit keeps its screen active during monitoring sessions, and overnight use with the screen on is a sustained draw on a 600mAh cell. Even a new battery will run low after a full night if the screen stays lit. Enable the screen timeout setting in the parent unit menu — the audio link stays active while the display sleeps. This significantly reduces overnight drain without losing monitoring function.

Night vision not working after fitting a new battery

The DBX-60 camera unit's IR LEDs for night vision draw a brief voltage spike when they activate. If the parent unit battery is below roughly 3.5V, the radio link can stutter during that spike, making the night vision feed appear to freeze or drop. This is a voltage floor issue, not a fault with the camera or the new battery. Charge the parent unit to 100% before first use and confirm the voltage has stabilised before testing night vision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why won't my Alecto DBX-60 parent unit connect to the camera after I swapped the battery?

Cutting power to the parent unit completely wipes the stored wireless pairing. The DBX-60 does not retain the link through a battery swap the way mains-powered devices do. Place the parent unit within 1 metre of the camera unit, then run the pairing sequence from the parent unit menu — it is listed under Settings on the DBX-60. Once paired at close range, the link holds at normal operating distance.

The range on my DBX-60 parent unit is much shorter after fitting a new battery — what's causing that?

The DBX-60's radio transmitter is voltage-sensitive. A battery that has not completed its first full charge cycle will sit below peak voltage, and the radio outputs less power as a result. Range shrinks noticeably when the cell is below 3.6V. Charge the parent unit fully on the dock before use — once the cell reaches 3.7V, normal operating range returns.

My Alecto DBX-60 parent unit shows a charging indicator but the battery percentage barely moves — is the battery faulty?

On a deeply discharged Li-Polymer cell, the BMS holds the charge current at a low trickle rate until the cell voltage recovers above roughly 3.0V. During this trickle phase, the percentage display can sit at 0–5% for 20 to 40 minutes while the cell recovers. Leave the unit on the dock without interrupting charge. If the percentage starts climbing after that initial period, the battery and BMS are both functioning correctly.
