Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HelloBaby HB40 / HB6250 Baby Monitor — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the rechargeable cell in the HelloBaby HB40 and HB6250 portable parent units. It fits the handheld receiver — the unit you carry around the house — not the camera base. When the original cell degrades and the parent unit dies faster than expected, this is the direct swap.

  • HB40 and HB6250 parent unit compatibility: Both models share the same parent unit form factor, battery bay dimensions (58.50 × 40.00 × 9.40mm), and 3.7V supply rail. The connector and cell footprint are identical across the two, so one part number covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the HB40 parent unit. The BMS accepted the charge from the OEM cradle without fault flags, and the unit held a stable 3.7V nominal throughout normal monitoring operation.
  • Re-pair after installation: After swapping the battery, the parent unit loses its saved wireless link to the camera. Power both units on, then run the pairing sequence from the parent unit menu — the camera will not appear on screen until you do this step.

Parent unit draining overnight during active monitoring

Running the HB40 parent unit all night with the screen active is a sustained draw on a 3000mAh cell. The LCD backlight, radio receiver, and speaker circuit all pull current simultaneously. The screen timeout setting — found in the display menu — lets the screen go dark while audio monitoring continues. This cuts the draw significantly and keeps the parent unit alive through a full night without a power connection.

Night vision not working after battery replacement

The IR LEDs on the camera unit are not affected by the parent unit battery swap — they run off the camera's own power supply. If night vision is missing after the swap, the issue is almost always an incomplete re-pair: the parent unit is receiving no signal at all and displaying a blank or frozen image. Run the full pairing sequence from the parent unit, confirm the camera feed appears in colour during daylight first, then switch to night mode. If the IR image still doesn't appear, check that the camera unit voltage reads above 4.9V on its charger before testing again.

Frequently Asked Questions

The parent unit screen comes on but shows no camera feed after I replaced the battery — what's wrong?

A full power loss to the parent unit wipes the saved wireless link to the camera. The unit boots up but has nothing to connect to until you re-pair. Power on both the parent unit and the camera, then go into the parent unit menu and run the pairing or channel-scan sequence. The camera feed will appear once the link is re-established.

The range on the parent unit seems much shorter after the swap — I'm losing signal two rooms away now.

The radio transmitter in the parent unit is voltage-sensitive. If the new battery hasn't been charged to full capacity yet, the radio runs at reduced power and the effective range drops noticeably. Put the parent unit on charge until the indicator shows a full charge, then retest the range. A fully charged 3.7V cell should restore the signal to the same range you had with the original battery.

The parent unit battery drains much faster when I use it at night — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell — overnight monitoring with the screen on is a sustained, high draw on a 3000mAh battery. The LCD backlight accounts for a large share of that drain. Go into the display settings on the parent unit and enable the screen timeout so the display goes dark while audio monitoring stays active. This reduces the draw significantly and extends how long the battery lasts through the night.
