Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Moonybaby MB55931 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (1ICP5/36/53-1SPT)

This 3.7V 1100mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original power cell in the Moonybaby MB55931 parent unit. It fits the MB55931, MB55931-2T, Trust 30, Split 55, and several additional models that share the same OEM part number 1ICP5/36/53-1SPT. When the factory battery degrades and stops holding charge, this is the direct cell replacement.

  • MB55931 and Trust 30 platform compatibility: These models share the same parent-unit board layout, connector pinout, and BMS handshake voltage. Swapping cells between them works because the protection circuit communicates at the same 3.7V nominal rail across the entire platform.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge-discharge cycles on the MB55931 parent unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the unit powered on cleanly from flat through to full charge cutoff at 4.2V.
  • Post-swap wireless re-pair: The MB55931 parent unit drops its camera link when it loses power completely. After fitting this battery, hold the pair button on both units until the parent unit confirms the connection — the camera feed will not appear until this step is done.

Parent unit not connecting to the camera unit after battery swap

The MB55931 stores its camera pairing data in volatile memory backed by the battery. A full power loss — which happens during a battery swap — wipes that link. The parent unit boots up without any stored camera address and waits for a new pairing handshake. Press and hold the pair button on the camera unit first, then trigger pairing on the parent unit and wait for the confirmation tone before releasing either button.

Battery draining overnight with the parent unit screen on

Running the parent unit display continuously through the night is a sustained draw the 1100mAh cell was not sized to sustain indefinitely. The backlit LCD and active radio receiver together pull enough current that the cell can hit the BMS low-voltage cutoff before morning. Enable the screen timeout function in the parent unit menu — the audio channel stays live while the screen sleeps, dropping the draw significantly and extending charge capacity across the night.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Moonybaby MB55931 parent unit shows full bars after charging but the camera feed disappears within a few metres — why does range drop off so fast with a new battery?

Radio transmission power on the MB55931 is voltage-sensitive. If the cell hasn't completed a full first charge, the transmit rail runs slightly low and the parent unit reduces its effective range. Charge the parent unit to 100% before the first use and run it until the charge indicator clears completely — range typically restores once the cell is at full 4.2V.

The night vision on the MB55931 camera stopped working after I replaced the parent unit battery — is the IR cut-off separate from the main feed?

Night vision on this monitor is triggered by a signal from the parent unit, and that trigger requires the parent unit to be adequately charged. A depleted or partially charged parent unit can maintain the video link but fail to send the IR activation command at sufficient voltage. Charge the parent unit fully, then power cycle both the parent unit and the camera unit — the IR LEDs should activate automatically once the camera enters low-light mode with the parent unit at full charge.

The MB55931 parent unit powers on fine but the battery indicator drops from full to empty in what feels like a few cycles — is the new cell faulty or is this a calibration issue?

The fuel gauge on the MB55931 parent unit calibrates itself against the original cell's charge curve. A new cell with a fresh capacity profile can cause the indicator to read inaccurately for the first few cycles. Run the battery from a full 4.2V charge down to the automatic low-voltage shutoff, then charge it back to full without interruption — do this twice and the gauge should settle into an accurate reading.
