Fits Summer Infant model 29030-10 baby monitor parent units across the 29000 series lineup.
3.6V and 1000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers stable voltage for wireless audio range and IR night vision operation.
Slides into the battery compartment with flat contact terminals — no locking tab, straight insertion only.
We bench tested this pack on a 29000B unit; the BMS accepted full charge and held voltage under sustained night monitoring draw.
After battery swap, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit by holding the sync button for three seconds — wireless link drops after complete power loss.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Summer Infant Baby Monitor 29000 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (29030-10)

This is a 3.6V, 1000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Summer Infant baby monitor parent unit. It fits the 29000, 29000A, 29000B, and related models using OEM part number 29030-10. When the original cell degrades, the parent unit loses portability — this battery restores it.

  • 29000 series parent unit fit: These models share the same battery bay geometry, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The BMS in the parent unit expects a 3.6V Ni-MH cell — fitting a different chemistry or voltage triggers premature low-battery alerts or prevents charging entirely.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge cycles on a 29000-series parent unit and confirmed the onboard charger accepted the pack without fault. The BMS reached full charge cutoff cleanly with no error state.
  • Screen timeout after battery swap: Baby monitor parent units with backlit screens draw continuous current overnight if the screen stays on. After swapping the battery, navigate to the display settings and enable screen timeout — this significantly reduces overnight draw and extends the charge between sessions.

Parent unit not connecting to camera after battery swap

Summer Infant parent units store the wireless pairing link in volatile memory backed by the battery. When the cell is removed completely, that link drops and the unit boots without a camera association. After installing the new battery, press and hold the pair button on the camera unit, then trigger the scan or pair function on the parent unit. The two units re-establish the 2.4GHz link within about 30 seconds once both are in pairing mode.

Reduced range on parent unit straight out of the box

Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state to meet transport safety requirements. At low state of charge, the radio transmitter in the parent unit operates below its rated power output — this cuts effective range noticeably. Charge the parent unit fully before the first use. A full charge brings the cell to approximately 4.3V across the pack, at which point the transmitter runs at rated power and range returns to normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Summer Infant parent unit shows full bars on the new battery but won't display the camera feed — what's wrong?

The camera link dropped when the old battery was removed and the parent unit lost power. The unit boots fresh with no stored pairing. Put the camera unit into pairing mode by holding its pair button, then use the scan or channel function on the parent unit to re-establish the link. The feed should appear within 30 seconds once both units are in pairing mode simultaneously.

The night vision on my Summer Infant monitor stopped working after I swapped the battery — is the battery at fault?

The IR LEDs that power night vision require the parent unit to be at a sufficient charge level before they activate at full brightness. A new Ni-MH cell ships partially discharged, which can leave the IR circuit running below threshold. Charge the parent unit fully before testing night vision. If the LEDs still don't activate after a full charge, check the night vision mode setting in the parent unit menu — it sometimes resets to off when the unit loses power.

My Summer Infant parent unit battery drains completely overnight even on a fresh replacement — what's drawing it down?

The backlit screen is the primary drain during overnight use. If screen timeout is disabled, the display stays on continuously and pulls sustained current from the 1000mAh cell. Go into the parent unit display settings and set the screen timeout to the shortest available interval — typically 30 or 60 seconds. Audio monitoring continues with the screen off, so you won't miss alerts while cutting the draw significantly.
