Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

NUK Eco Control + Video / 550VD — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LI-01)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the NUK Eco Control + Video parent unit. It fits both the Eco Control + Video and the Eco Control Video Display 550VD. The OEM part number is LI-01.

  • Eco Control + Video and 550VD compatibility: Both models share the same parent unit form factor, LI-01 connector pinout, and 3.7V power rail for the display and audio transmission circuit — one battery covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the parent unit. The BMS held voltage within spec across screen-on and audio-active states, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
  • Re-pair the parent unit after fitting: The Eco Control + Video loses its wireless link to the camera unit when the parent unit drops to zero volts. After fitting this battery, charge the parent unit fully, then hold the pairing button on both units until the connection indicator confirms a new link.

Parent unit not connecting to camera unit after battery swap

When the parent unit loses power completely — as it does during a battery swap — the 550VD and Eco Control + Video drop their stored wireless pairing data. The camera unit keeps broadcasting, but the parent unit comes back up without a registered receiver address. To restore the link, charge the parent unit to at least 3.9V before attempting re-pair — low voltage during pairing causes the radio module to time out before handshake completes. Hold the pairing button on the camera unit first, then on the parent unit, and wait for the solid connection indicator.

Night vision drops out or shows a dark screen after replacement

The IR LEDs on the camera unit are voltage-sensitive at the camera end, but the symptom often appears after a parent unit battery swap because the parent unit's radio signal drops in strength when the new battery is below full charge. A weak radio link causes the parent unit to display a black or broken image that looks like a night vision fault. Charge the parent unit fully to 4.2V before assuming the camera or IR system has failed. If the image clears once the battery is charged, the camera unit is fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

My NUK Eco Control + Video parent unit is draining overnight even on a new battery — what's causing it?

The parent unit screen staying active all night is the main draw — the display and audio receiver together pull sustained current that a 1000mAh cell feels across a full night. Enable the screen timeout in the parent unit settings so the display shuts off while audio monitoring stays active. With screen timeout on, the battery handles overnight monitoring without the same rate of drain. If the screen timeout option isn't enabled, the cell will read low by morning regardless of its condition.

The range on my parent unit seems shorter after fitting a new battery — is the battery faulty?

Radio transmission power on the Eco Control + Video is voltage-sensitive. A new battery that hasn't been fully charged yet runs the radio module at reduced output, which cuts effective range before walls and interference are even factored in. Charge the parent unit to 4.2V before testing range — most reported range issues after a battery swap resolve once the cell is at full charge. If range is still reduced after a full charge, check that no large metal objects or Wi-Fi routers have been placed between the units.

The parent unit shows a charging indicator but the battery percentage doesn't increase — what should I check?

This usually means the BMS entered a protection state during the final stages of the old battery's life and hasn't reset yet. Disconnect the charger, leave the parent unit off for two minutes, then reconnect. If the percentage still won't climb, the issue is the charging contact or cable — try a different USB cable and confirm the charging port on the parent unit is free of lint. Once charging resumes normally, the cell should reach 4.2V within a standard charge cycle.
