Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips SBC-SC463 / SBC-SC465 / SBC-SC467 / SBC-SC469 — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (NA150D04C051)

This is a 4.8V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Philips SBC-SC463 series baby monitor parent unit. It fits the SBC-SC463, SBC-SC465, SBC-SC467, and SBC-SC469 handsets. When the original cell loses charge capacity, this swap restores full operation to the parent unit.

  • SBC-SC463 series parent unit compatibility: These four handsets share the same 4.8V four-cell Ni-MH pack, the same physical footprint (50.50 × 57.00 × 14.50mm), and the same OEM part number NA150D04C051 — so one replacement covers the entire range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the SBC-SC463 charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted a full charge without interruption and that cell voltage balanced correctly across all four cells before sign-off.
  • Re-pair the wireless link after installation: Philips SBC-SC4xx parent units drop their wireless pairing with the nursery receiver whenever the battery is fully removed. After fitting this battery, power both units on and run the pairing sequence from the parent unit menu before relying on the monitor.

Parent unit not connecting to the nursery receiver after battery swap

The SBC-SC4xx stores its wireless channel and pairing data in volatile memory backed by the battery. A full battery removal clears that memory, so the parent unit comes back up without a registered receiver. This is not a fault with the replacement battery — it is a predictable result of power interruption. Power on both the parent unit and the nursery receiver, then hold the pairing button on the parent unit until the link indicator confirms a connection. The nursery receiver does not need to be reset separately.

Parent unit battery draining overnight with screen staying on

The SBC-SC4xx parent unit runs its LCD backlight continuously when screen timeout is disabled — this is the single largest drain on the 2000mAh pack during night-time use. A fresh Ni-MH cell at 4.8V will still deplete faster than expected if the screen stays lit for eight-plus hours. Go into the parent unit display settings and set the screen timeout to the shortest available interval — the audio alert still fires with the screen off. Check that the charge contact on the base station is clean and making solid contact; a dirty contact means the unit runs on battery even when docked.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Philips SBC-SC463 parent unit shows full bars after charging but the range drops to almost nothing — is something wrong with the new battery?

Range on the SBC-SC4xx is directly tied to the radio transmitter voltage, which scales with battery charge level. A Ni-MH pack that has not completed its first full charge cycle will sit a few tenths of a volt below its rated 4.8V, and that's enough to reduce transmitter output noticeably. Place the parent unit on the charging cradle for a full uninterrupted charge before testing range — once the pack reaches its full resting voltage, the radio operates at rated power.

The night vision on the nursery unit looks dim or completely off after I swapped the parent unit battery — what's happening?

Night vision on this monitor is controlled from the parent unit, and the IR LED activation command is sent over the wireless link. If the parent unit did not re-pair with the nursery receiver after the battery swap, it cannot send that command — the nursery unit sits in its default daytime mode. Run the pairing sequence from the parent unit menu first. If pairing is confirmed and night vision still won't activate, check that the parent unit firmware did not reset to factory defaults, which sets night vision to manual-off.

The SBC-SC463 parent unit won't hold a charge for more than a day even with a brand-new battery — what causes that?

Ni-MH cells are sensitive to shallow-cycle degradation — if the previous battery was repeatedly topped up without ever fully discharging, the charge circuit may be calibrated to a shorter cycle. Run the new pack down until the low-battery warning activates, then charge it fully without interruption. This lets the charge circuit re-learn the actual cell capacity. If the drain still seems excessive after two full cycles, confirm the screen timeout is active and that the unit is not searching for a lost receiver signal, which keeps the radio transmitter running at full power continuously.
