Replaces OEM part number 164105 for VTech LF915, LF920, LF930 HD parent units.
Voltage runs 3.7V at 5000mAh capacity — delivers the full charge window the parent unit needs for all-day monitoring without cutoff.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot; polarity marked on the housing; locking tab secures against accidental ejection during handling.
We bench-tested the BMS on a LF915 unit — no fault codes on first insertion, voltage ramp steady, and the parent unit accepted the cell without reseat cycles.
After battery swap, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit before use — the wireless link resets when power drops completely.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

V Tech LF915 / LF920 / LF930 HD — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (164105)

This is a 3.7V 5000mAh Li-Polymer battery for the V Tech LF915, LF920, LF930 HD, and RM5754 baby monitor parent units. It replaces OEM part number 164105. When the original battery stops holding a charge, the parent unit loses its ability to be carried around the home — this battery restores that portability.

  • LF915 / LF920 / LF930 HD / RM5754 parent unit fit: These models share the same parent unit chassis, battery bay dimensions, and connector pinout. All run on the same 3.7V Li-Polymer cell with identical BMS handshake requirements — one battery number covers the group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the parent unit. The BMS accepted the charge without triggering overcurrent cutoff, and the unit held its wireless link to the camera throughout the test.
  • Re-pair the parent unit after fitting: The LF915 and its siblings lose the wireless pairing to the camera unit when the parent unit is fully powered down. After fitting this battery, run the pairing sequence from the parent unit menu before expecting video or audio from the camera.

Parent unit battery draining overnight on the LF915

The LF915 parent unit runs the screen, radio receiver, and IR detection circuit simultaneously during night-time monitoring. If the screen stays on continuously, total draw across those three systems is sustained — not light-draw standby. The fastest fix is enabling the screen timeout in the display settings, which drops the parent unit into a lower-draw audio-only mode while keeping the radio link alive. A 5000mAh cell handles overnight use comfortably in screen-timeout mode; leaving the screen active all night will show visible capacity loss by morning.

Night vision stops working after battery replacement

The camera unit's IR LEDs draw from the camera's own power supply, but the parent unit's radio receiver needs adequate voltage to decode and display the IR-enhanced feed correctly. If the replacement battery ships at a low state of charge, the parent unit may show a blank or degraded image in dark mode. Charge the parent unit fully before testing night vision — target a full charge indicator on the unit's display. If night vision still drops out, check that the camera unit itself is on mains power and positioned within 5 metres for initial pairing confirmation.

Frequently Asked Questions

My V Tech LF915 parent unit shows no camera feed after I put the new battery in — what's wrong?

A full power interruption clears the wireless pairing between the parent unit and the camera on these V Tech monitors. The battery swap likely caused exactly that. Run the pairing sequence from the parent unit's menu — the exact steps are in the LF915 manual under "Camera Registration." Once paired, the feed should appear within 30 seconds.

The range on my LF915 parent unit seems much shorter than it used to be — will the new battery fix this?

Range on the LF915 is tied directly to the radio transmit power, which is voltage-sensitive. If the replacement battery shipped partially discharged, the parent unit may be operating below its rated transmit voltage and cutting range noticeably. Charge the battery fully before testing range — the unit needs to be at or near 3.7V loaded to push its rated signal distance. If range stays short after a full charge, interference from other 2.4GHz devices in the home is the next thing to check.

The LF915 parent unit shows a charging indicator but the battery percentage never goes up — is the battery faulty?

This usually points to the parent unit's charge management circuit re-initialising with the new cell rather than a faulty battery. Li-Polymer cells can show a static percentage for the first 20–30 minutes of the first charge as the BMS reads the new cell's internal resistance profile. Leave the unit on charge undisturbed for a full cycle — if the indicator is still stuck after 3 hours, check that the charging cable is seated firmly at both ends and delivering at least 5V.
