Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HelloBaby HB6588 Video Baby Monitor — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AHB757080)

This 3.7V, 5400mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the OEM AHB757080 cell in the HelloBaby HB6588 parent monitor unit. It restores power to the handheld display you use to watch and listen to the nursery camera. Capacity figure comes directly from the product specification — 19.98Wh total energy.

  • HB6588 parent unit fit: The HB6588 parent monitor uses a slim Li-Polymer pouch cell at 3.7V nominal. The AHB757080 part number matches the original cell's footprint (81.40 × 69.80 × 7.00mm), connector position, and BMS communication protocol — the unit's charge controller recognises the replacement without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the HB6588 parent unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge indicator progressed through all stages to full without interruption.
  • Wireless link after power loss: After replacing the battery, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit. The HB6588 loses its stored wireless channel when the parent unit drops to zero volts — this is a known behaviour of the monitor's pairing memory, not a fault with the replacement cell.

Why the HB6588 parent unit shows a weak or no signal after a battery swap

The HB6588's radio module draws from the same 3.7V cell as the display. When the parent unit loses power completely during a battery swap, the radio resets to its lowest output state. Transmission power is voltage-sensitive — at anything below a full charge, range is noticeably shorter than normal. Charge the parent unit fully before attempting to judge signal strength or range after fitting the replacement.

Parent unit screen stays on all night and battery is flat by morning

Running the backlit display continuously overnight is a sustained draw that a 5400mAh cell will handle for an extended stretch, but screen-on operation is the single largest power consumer in the unit. The HB6588 includes a screen timeout setting that turns the display off while audio monitoring stays active. Enable screen timeout in the monitor's display settings — the unit will still alert you to sound or motion without keeping the screen lit all night.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HB6588 parent unit won't connect to the camera after I put the new battery in — is something wrong with the replacement?

Nothing is wrong with the battery. The HB6588 stores its camera pairing in volatile memory that wipes when the parent unit reaches zero volts — which happens during every battery swap. You need to re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit from scratch. Hold the pair button on the camera unit, then follow the pairing sequence on the parent monitor until the live feed appears.

The night vision on the camera has stopped working since I replaced the battery — what's causing that?

Night vision on the HB6588 is driven by IR LEDs that require the parent unit to be at or near full charge voltage to negotiate properly with the camera. If the replacement battery went in at a low state of charge, the monitor may not be supplying enough voltage to trigger the IR mode correctly. Charge the parent unit fully before testing night vision again — 3.7V nominal means the cell needs to reach approximately 4.2V at full charge before IR output is stable.

The new battery seems to drain much faster when I use the HB6588 in VOX mode overnight — is that normal?

VOX mode keeps the audio circuit active and ready to trigger the display at any sound above the sensitivity threshold. If the VOX sensitivity is set too high, minor ambient noise — an air vent, traffic outside — triggers the screen repeatedly through the night, which compounds the draw significantly. Lower the VOX sensitivity one step at a time until only your baby's sounds activate the display, and the overnight drain will reduce noticeably.
