Dolphin 6000LU1 / 6500 / 6110 / 6100 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP06-00028A)

This 3.7V 2200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the BP06-00028A, BP06-00029A, 6000-BTSC, and 6000-TESC packs used in Dolphin handheld barcode scanners. It fits the 6000LU1, 6500, 6110, and 6100 models — all running the same voltage rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake. Capacity is 2200mAh (8.14Wh), matching the original specification.

• 6000LU1, 6500, 6110, and 6100 compatibility: These four models share the same 3.7V Li-ion cell format, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. A single replacement pack covers all four without wiring or housing modifications.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on a 6000LU1 unit and cycled it through repeated scan-trigger events. The BMS held stable charge termination and did not false-trip on the combined scan-laser and wireless radio inrush load.
• First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack: Place the scanner in its charging cradle for a full charge cycle before putting the new pack into rotation. Scan-trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum voltage — starting fully charged prevents false BMS trips on the first shift of use.

Cradle charging error on a freshly installed pack

Dolphin cradles use contact pins that can accumulate oxidation and dust from warehouse environments. When contact resistance rises, the dock misreads the pack's charge state and throws a charging error even on a new cell. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery pack and the cradle dock with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until it clicks. If the error clears, contact resistance was the cause — not the battery.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During high-frequency scanning, the device draws simultaneously from the scan imager and the wireless radio. On a degraded or partially charged pack, this combined inrush can pull cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold, causing the radio to drop. The BMS interprets the sag as an undervoltage condition and briefly cuts output to protect the cell. Starting each shift with a fully charged pack keeps cell voltage above the sag threshold — target 4.1V or higher before beginning heavy scan work.
