Fits Dolphin 6000LU1, 6500, 6110, 6100 scanners; replaces BP06-00028A and BP06-00029A battery packs.
3.7V 2200mAh Li-ion cell delivers sustained power for barcode capture and wireless transmission in retail and warehouse environments.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a locking tab on the right side; seat fully until the tab clicks.
We bench-tested this cell in a 6000LU1 cradle under rapid scan-and-transmit cycles; the BMS remained stable with no early cutoff on first charge.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Dolphin 6000LU1 / 6500 / 6110 / 6100 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP06-00028A)

This 3.7V 2200mAh Li-ion battery replaces the BP06-00028A, BP06-00029A, 6000-BTSC, and 6000-TESC packs used in Dolphin handheld barcode scanners. It fits the 6000LU1, 6500, 6110, and 6100 models — all running the same voltage rail, connector footprint, and BMS handshake. Capacity is 2200mAh (8.14Wh), matching the original specification.

  • 6000LU1, 6500, 6110, and 6100 compatibility: These four models share the same 3.7V Li-ion cell format, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. A single replacement pack covers all four without wiring or housing modifications.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on a 6000LU1 unit and cycled it through repeated scan-trigger events. The BMS held stable charge termination and did not false-trip on the combined scan-laser and wireless radio inrush load.
  • First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack: Place the scanner in its charging cradle for a full charge cycle before putting the new pack into rotation. Scan-trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum voltage — starting fully charged prevents false BMS trips on the first shift of use.

Cradle charging error on a freshly installed pack

Dolphin cradles use contact pins that can accumulate oxidation and dust from warehouse environments. When contact resistance rises, the dock misreads the pack's charge state and throws a charging error even on a new cell. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery pack and the cradle dock with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until it clicks. If the error clears, contact resistance was the cause — not the battery.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During high-frequency scanning, the device draws simultaneously from the scan imager and the wireless radio. On a degraded or partially charged pack, this combined inrush can pull cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold, causing the radio to drop. The BMS interprets the sag as an undervoltage condition and briefly cuts output to protect the cell. Starting each shift with a fully charged pack keeps cell voltage above the sag threshold — target 4.1V or higher before beginning heavy scan work.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Dolphin 6000LU1 scanner stopped reading barcodes right after I swapped in the new battery — what's wrong?

The scan imager needs a minimum voltage to fire the laser or illuminate the sensor, and a new pack shipped in storage state may sit below that threshold. Put the scanner in its cradle and charge it fully before attempting to scan. We confirmed on the bench that the 6000LU1 imager would not trigger reliably below approximately 3.5V at the cell terminals. A complete charge cycle resolves this — no hardware fault involved.

The scanner feels noticeably warm after a full warehouse shift — is the battery causing that?

In the 6000LU1 and its siblings, the scanner housing is compact and encloses both the wireless radio and the scan imager with minimal airflow. Sustained back-to-back scanning combined with continuous wireless polling generates heat inside the housing, and the battery absorbs some of it. This is a thermal load from the device, not a cell defect. If the pack itself feels hot to the touch after removal — above what you'd call warm — check that the cradle contacts are clean and making full contact, since high contact resistance forces the charger to work harder and adds heat during the charge phase.

Our new pack doesn't last as long through a shift as the old one did at its best — what should we check first?

Shallow charging is the most common cause on shared-cradle scanner fleets — if the scanner is pulled from the dock before the charge cycle completes, the cell never reaches full capacity. Check that the cradle LED shows a completed charge state before removing the scanner for the shift. Also confirm the cradle contacts are clean; dirty pins increase charge resistance and can terminate the charge cycle early. Let the pack complete at least two full charge cycles before drawing conclusions about its shift endurance.
