Fits Honeywell Dolphin 6100 and 6110 mobile computers; replaces OEM battery BP06-00028A and 6000-TESC.
3.7V Li-ion at 2200mAh delivers 8.14Wh—sufficient for full-shift barcode scanning and wireless polling in warehouse pick-and-pack operations.
Battery slides into the rear slot with a spring-loaded locking tab; connector is a two-pin JST-type that seats flush when fully inserted.
We ran load tests on a Dolphin 6110 cradle; BMS accepted the handshake without fault codes and delivered steady voltage under scan-trigger inrush peaks.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack—the scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HandHeld Dolphin 6100 / 6110 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP06-00028A)

This is a 3.7V 2200mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the HandHeld Dolphin 6100 and Dolphin 6110 mobile computers. It matches OEM part numbers BP06-00028A and 6000-TESC. These handheld scanners are common in retail pick-and-pack, warehouse inventory, and asset tracking environments where the battery takes sustained daily abuse.

  • Dolphin 6100 and 6110 compatibility: Both models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, battery bay dimensions, and BMS handshake protocol — the same pack runs across both without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through scan-trigger inrush cycling and wireless polling loads. The BMS held regulation without nuisance trips across repeated burst-scanning sequences at full radio activity.
  • First-shift cradle charge: After installing the new pack, seat it in the charging cradle and let it complete a full charge cycle before starting a shift. Scan-trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum voltage — a fully charged cell prevents false BMS cutoffs during that first heavy-use period.

Why the Dolphin 6100 drops wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The Dolphin 6100 draws from a single cell powering both the imager and the 802.11 radio simultaneously. During rapid burst scanning, the combined inrush from the scan trigger and the radio transmit pulse can spike current draw beyond what a degraded or partially charged cell can supply. The BMS interprets this as an overcurrent condition and momentarily cuts output, which the radio stack reads as a power loss — dropping the connection. A fresh, fully charged pack at 4.2V absorbs these spikes without the BMS intervening.

Cradle shows a charging error after fitting the new pack

Charging errors on the Dolphin cradle after a battery swap are almost always a contact resistance issue, not a pack fault. The cradle's charge contacts are gold-plated pads that accumulate oxidation and debris from warehouse environments. Wipe the battery contacts and the cradle contacts with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the pack firmly until it clicks. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, the contacts were the cause — the pack is fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Dolphin 6100 stops reading barcodes within an hour of fitting the new battery — what's wrong?

The imager needs a minimum voltage threshold to fire reliably — below roughly 3.5V the laser or LED illumination drops below the level needed for a clean read. A new pack shipped in storage state will be at 50–60% charge, which may already be near that floor under load. Seat the scanner in its cradle and charge fully to 4.2V before starting a shift, and the issue will not reappear.

The scanner runs noticeably shorter shifts than the old battery did, even though the new pack is rated the same 2200mAh — why?

Shift endurance on the Dolphin 6100 depends heavily on scan burst frequency and how often the 802.11 radio is actively polling — both draw simultaneously from a single 3.7V cell. A warehouse with dense wireless traffic and high scan volume will drain this pack faster than a low-activity environment. Check whether radio polling intervals have been tightened or scan volumes have increased since the previous battery was new — those operational changes, not a pack defect, are the usual cause of the gap.

The scanner housing gets noticeably warm during extended shifts — is that a battery problem?

Sustained warmth in the Dolphin 6100 body is normal under continuous scan-plus-radio load because the imager, processor, and wireless radio all sit in an enclosed plastic housing with minimal airflow. The battery itself contributes a small thermal load during discharge, but the main heat source is the radio transceiver under sustained 802.11 activity. If the housing becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, check that the scanner's radio duty cycle is not set to continuous active polling — reducing polling frequency brings housing temperature down.
