Fits Symbol MC35, MC3504, MC3574, MC35-C-E5B2 mobile computers; replaces BTRY-MC35EABOE, 82-90129-01, A09C2010F, 82-90129-02, BTRY-MC35EABO2.
3.7V Li-ion at 1400mAh supplies the scan trigger and wireless radio without voltage sag during burst operation.
Connector slides straight into the battery door slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed and does not reverse.
We bench-tested this cell through rapid scan cycles and sustained wireless polling; the BMS accepted full charge in the Symbol cradle dock without fault codes.
On first shift after installation, run the scanner through a complete cradle charge cycle before field use — the scan trigger draws peak current at low charge states and a full pre-charge prevents unexpected BMS cutoff mid-scan.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Symbol MC35 / MC3504 / MC3574 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTRY-MC35EABOE)

This is a 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-ion battery for the Symbol MC35 series handheld mobile computer. It fits the MC35, MC3504, MC3574, and MC35-C-E5B2 configurations. The cell slots into the same bay as the original pack and uses the same BMS communication protocol the MC35 expects on startup.

  • MC35 series compatibility: The MC35, MC3504, MC3574, and MC35-C-E5B2 all share the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. One pack covers all four variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the MC35 platform. The BMS passed the device's authentication handshake on first contact and held the 3.7V nominal rail under combined scan-trigger and wireless polling load without tripping the protection circuit.
  • First-shift preparation on the MC35: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before your first pick-and-pack shift. The scan trigger draws the highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum charge — a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS trips the moment a worker starts scanning.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new MC35 battery pack

The MC35 cradle monitors contact resistance on the charge pins. If the dock throws an error immediately after seating a new pack, the problem is almost always the contact pads, not the battery. Oxidation or residue on the battery's gold contacts breaks the low-resistance path the cradle needs to begin a charge cycle. Wipe the pack contacts and cradle pins with a dry lint-free cloth, reseat firmly, and confirm the charging LED changes state within 10 seconds.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a fast-scan sequence, the MC35 fires the imager and polls the wireless radio nearly simultaneously. That combined inrush can pull the cell voltage low enough to trigger the BMS under-voltage threshold momentarily, dropping the radio connection. This is more common when the battery is below 20% charge. If the drop-outs track with scan frequency rather than distance from the access point, charge the pack to at least 50% before the next shift and the symptom will clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MC35 scanner stopped reading barcodes right after I put the new battery in — what's wrong?

The imager on the MC35 needs the cell voltage above a minimum threshold before it fires reliably. A new pack shipped in storage state may sit at 3.0V or lower, which is not enough to sustain imager power through a scan trigger. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge it fully before attempting a scan. Once the pack reaches 3.7V nominal, the imager will fire consistently.

The MC35 feels warm after a full warehouse shift — is that a battery problem?

Heat in the MC35 during sustained use comes from the combined load of continuous scan triggers and active wireless polling inside an enclosed plastic housing — there is no fan to move air. The battery itself does generate some heat under sustained draw, but surface warmth at shift end is normal. If the unit becomes too hot to hold or shuts down unexpectedly, check that the vent areas on the housing are not blocked, and allow a 10-minute rest period before the next shift cycle.

The new battery seems to drain faster than expected in our high-frequency scan environment — what's causing it?

High scan-burst frequency combined with active wireless polling draws significantly more current than occasional scanning does. The MC35's 1400mAh cell is sized for standard field use, not continuous back-to-back scanning without pause. If your workflow fires the trigger more than 20 times per minute with the radio active, the pack will deplete faster than a lighter-duty shift would suggest. Track scan frequency per shift and stage a spare charged pack in the cradle to swap at the midpoint.
