This 3.7V 450mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original HW752233 1S1P battery in the Vancouver 3D-Life/XC142K bicycle light. It matches the single-cell 1S1P configuration and physical dimensions of the OEM pack. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the light fails to power on.

  • 3D-Life/XC142K fit: The XC142K driver circuit runs on a nominal 3.7V single-cell input. The connector pinout and BMS communication match the OEM pack — the light's charge management and low-voltage cutoff functions operate as they did from the factory.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the XC142K platform. The BMS accepted charge without fault flags, and the low-voltage cutoff triggered cleanly at the expected threshold — no premature shutdowns or runaway draws observed.

Light not reaching rated lumen output on a new battery

The XC142K driver needs the cell voltage above a minimum input threshold to sustain maximum brightness. If the replacement cell shipped partially discharged — common in storage — the driver can't pull enough current to hit peak lumen output. This isn't a fault with the light or the cell. Charge fully to 4.2V before the first use and retest at full brightness mode.

USB charging not accepted after a wet ride

Water in the USB port interrupts the charge handshake before current even reaches the cell. The XC142K shows no charge indicator and the port may feel cool to the touch — the BMS is not at fault. Leave the light in a dry location with the port facing down for several hours. Once the port is fully dry, reconnect the cable and confirm the charge indicator activates within 30 seconds.

The driver steps output down progressively as cell voltage sags, starting before it reaches the threshold that triggers the low-battery indicator. You're seeing reduced brightness at a voltage the light doesn't classify as "low" yet. Charge the cell to 4.2V and the driver will hold full output again.

The XC142K runs at full brightness for a short stretch then drops — why does turbo mode cut out so fast?

Turbo mode draws roughly 3 to 5 times the current of standard mode, which pulls cell voltage down quickly on a small 450mAh cell. Once voltage sags enough, the driver steps down to protect the cell — this is normal BMS behaviour, not a fault. If the drop happens faster than expected on a new battery, the cell may have shipped at partial charge. Charge fully to 4.2V and retest in turbo mode from a full cell.

The XC142K won't power on at all after sitting unused for a few months — is the battery dead?

Li-polymer cells self-discharge over time, and a cell left unused for several months can drop below the BMS's minimum recovery voltage — the light won't respond at all when this happens. Connect to a USB charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes; some chargers won't register a charge indicator immediately if the cell is deeply depleted.
