Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Snom C52-SP DECT Expansion Speakerphone — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (GP230AAHC6YMXZ)

This is a 7.2V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Snom C52-SP DECT Expansion Speakerphone. It replaces OEM part GP230AAHC6YMXZ directly. The C52-SP is a wireless conference speakerphone, and this battery is what keeps it untethered during meetings.

  • C52-SP platform fit: The C52-SP runs a 7.2V Ni-MH pack to handle combined DECT radio and audio amplifier draw simultaneously. This replacement matches that voltage rail and cell arrangement, so the BMS reads state-of-charge correctly from the first session.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack under a combined wireless-plus-audio load profile that mirrors a live conference call. The BMS held stable across the draw curve without triggering a low-voltage cutoff early.
  • First-session calibration tip: After installing, run one full charge before the first meeting. The C52-SP maps battery state during normal operation, and without that initial full charge, the onboard indicator may flag a false low-battery warning mid-session.

Voltage sag under combined DECT and audio draw in the C52-SP

The C52-SP pulls current from two systems at once — the DECT radio module and the speaker amplifier. A degraded or deeply discharged pack cannot sustain the combined draw, and voltage drops below the BMS threshold during active calls. This triggers a protective cutoff that looks like a sudden power failure mid-meeting. A fresh pack at full charge holds the voltage rail above the 6.0V cutoff point where the BMS would otherwise intervene.

Battery indicator showing wrong charge level after installation

The C52-SP estimates charge level by tracking voltage thresholds, not a fuel gauge IC. A new pack comes off storage at a partial state of charge, so the unit has no reference point yet. This causes the indicator to show an inaccurate level — sometimes too high, sometimes too low — for the first session. Run one complete charge cycle to the dock's charge-complete signal, then discharge through normal use, and the indicator will read correctly from the next session onward.

Frequently Asked Questions

The C52-SP won't turn on at all after I installed the new battery — what's wrong?

The most likely cause is the replacement pack arriving in a deep-discharge storage state, which puts the BMS in lockout. Place the unit on its charging dock and leave it for at least 90 minutes before pressing power — the dock trickle-charges the pack past the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 6.0V, before the unit will respond.

My C52-SP keeps dropping the DECT connection during longer conference calls — is this the battery?

Yes, this points to voltage sag under sustained combined load. When the DECT radio and speaker amplifier both draw current over an extended session, a weakened or poorly charged pack dips below the stable operating voltage and the radio module drops out first. Charge the replacement pack fully before use and confirm the dock light reaches charge-complete before the next call.

The charging dock doesn't seem to be charging the new battery — the indicator light never changes.

The most common cause is high contact resistance between the pack terminals and the dock contacts. Wipe the metal contacts on both the battery pack and the dock with a dry cloth to remove any oxidation or residue, then reseat the unit firmly. If the dock light still doesn't respond after reseating, check that the pack voltage reads above 5.0V with a multimeter — below that, some docks require a brief USB-side trickle input before switching to full charge mode.
