Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Albrecht AE930 — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 4.8V, 2000mAh Ni-MH battery for the Albrecht AE930 cordless DECT handset. It replaces the original pack that powers the handset away from the base station. Voltage, capacity, and physical dimensions (56.5 × 50.30 × 14.40mm) match the factory specification.

  • AE930 handset fit: The AE930 base station charges at a fixed trickle rate tuned to a 4.8V Ni-MH cell stack. Swapping chemistry or voltage breaks that handshake and triggers charge errors — this pack keeps both correct.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a cordless phone test rig. The cells held a stable 4.8V nominal rail and the handset accepted the charge cycle without fault lights on the base.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in storage state need a slow initial charge to condition all cells evenly and reach rated capacity.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New Ni-MH cells often deliver below-rated capacity for the first three to five charge cycles. This is a chemistry behaviour, not a defect — the cells need repeated full charge and discharge passes to reach their rated 2000mAh. Each cycle improves capacity noticeably. Run the handset until it drops signal, return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat.

Base station showing no charge light or error indicator on new pack

Ni-MH batteries resting in storage can drop below the voltage threshold the base station expects before it begins the charge cycle. The base reads the low voltage as a fault and refuses to charge. Remove the battery, leave it out for 60 seconds, reinsert it firmly, and reseat the handset in the base. If the error persists, measure cell voltage — a healthy pack at rest should read above 4.5V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AE930 handset lost its DECT pairing after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT phones clear their pairing data when the power rail drops completely. The fix is a manual re-registration: press and hold the paging button on the base until the LED flashes, then trigger the register function on the handset from the menu. Once paired, the handset reconnects to the base immediately.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

A fully seated handset in the base should draw trickle charge, not discharge. If it's draining, the handset contacts or the base charging pins are not making a clean connection. Remove the handset, inspect the gold charging contacts on both the handset and the base cradle for oxidation, and clean them with a dry cloth. Reseat the handset firmly — you should feel it click into the cradle and the charge indicator should light within 30 seconds.

After swapping the battery, the AE930 range feels shorter and calls break up near the edges of the house — why?

RF transmit power in a DECT handset draws a short burst of current every time the radio fires. If the Ni-MH pack voltage sags under that load, the transmit burst weakens and range drops. This is most common in the first few cycles before the cells are conditioned. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles and check range again — a conditioned 4.8V pack holds voltage steadier under RF load and range typically recovers.
