Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Audioline 5015 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 800mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Audioline 5015 cordless DECT phone handset. It slots into the handset battery compartment and powers the unit during calls and standby. Capacity figure is taken directly from product data — 800mAh, 2.88Wh.

  • Audioline 5015 handset fit: The 5015 handset runs a 3.6V NiMH cell at this form factor — 44.77 × 30.71 × 10.57mm. The voltage rail and connector match the original pack, so the base station's charge circuit sees the same load it expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible analyser. The BMS accepted the full charge without cutoff errors, and voltage held steady under simulated RF transmit load.
  • First-charge conditioning for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells shipped in partial-charge storage states need this slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping it leaves the pack at 60–70% of spec for the first few uses.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells don't deliver full rated capacity straight out of the box. The electrolyte needs activation across three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the pack reaches 800mAh. If talk time feels short in the first week, that's the cause — not a fault. Run the handset until it signals low battery, then charge fully in the base each time. By cycle five, capacity should be at or near spec.

Base station shows no charge light or flashes an error on a new pack

NiMH batteries lose voltage in storage — a pack sitting in a warehouse can drop below 3.0V. Some Audioline base stations won't initiate a charge cycle if the pack voltage is too low on insertion, reading it as a fault rather than a depleted cell. The fix is a trickle charge: some bases recover the pack automatically after a few minutes, others need the handset removed and reinserted once. If the error persists after two insertions, check the handset contacts are clean and making firm contact — target a stable 3.6V on the handset's charge pins before assuming a fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Audioline 5015 handset shows full charge but the battery drains overnight — what's wrong?

This is a standby draw issue, not a capacity fault. If the handset isn't fully seated in the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make a reliable connection and the battery slowly discharges instead of topping up. Check that the handset clicks firmly into the base and that the charge indicator light stays on. Clean the metal contacts on both the handset and cradle with a dry cloth — oxidation on those pins is the most common cause of intermittent charging failure.

The Audioline 5015 handset has noticeably shorter range after I swapped the battery — is the new pack causing this?

Yes, and the cause is voltage sag under RF transmit load. When a NiMH pack is under-conditioned or partially charged, its output voltage dips during the brief power burst the DECT transmitter draws. The phone's RF circuit gets less voltage than it expects and reduces output power, which cuts range. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the pack, and always ensure the handset charges fully in the base before use. After conditioning, transmit voltage should stabilise and range should return to normal.

The Audioline 5015 handset lost its pairing with the base after I replaced the battery — how do I fix it?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT phones clear their pairing memory when power is fully interrupted. This isn't a battery fault — it's a normal behaviour in that phone class. Re-register the handset using the pairing procedure in the 5015 manual: typically, press and hold the page or register button on the base until it enters pairing mode, then confirm on the handset. Once re-paired, place the handset in the base for a full charge before making calls.
