Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DeTeWe BeeTel 2000 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BT-800)
This is a 2.4V 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the DeTeWe BeeTel 2000, BeeTel 2000C, and BeeTel 900C cordless handsets. It replaces the original pack when the handset no longer holds charge through a normal call or stops accepting a charge from the base station. Capacity is 700mAh (1.68Wh), matching the original specification.
- BeeTel 2000, 2000C, and 900C compatibility: All three models share the same 2.4V cell configuration, connector pinout, and physical form factor — 43.55 x 20.42 x 10.60mm. The base station's charge circuit targets the same voltage threshold across this range, so one pack covers all three handsets.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a 2.4V NiMH test rig. The cell reached rated capacity by the fourth cycle. BMS behaviour was stable — no false full-charge trips on the initial cycles.
- First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones reach rated capacity only after a slow initial charge — skipping this step is the most common cause of short talk time complaints after fitting a new pack.
Base station charge light staying off after fitting a new NiMH pack
NiMH batteries lose voltage during storage. If a pack ships at or below 2.0V, some BeeTel base stations won't recognise it as a valid battery and won't initiate a charge cycle — the charge indicator simply stays dark. This is a voltage threshold issue, not a fault with the battery or the base. Place the handset firmly in the cradle and leave it undisturbed for up to 30 minutes — the base will often detect a low pack and begin trickle charging once contact resistance stabilises. If the light still doesn't come on, remove the handset, check the gold contacts on both the handset and cradle are clean, and reseat it. A reading of 2.0V or above at the battery terminals confirms the pack is recoverable.
Talk time shorter than expected across the first few charges
NiMH cells arrive in a partially discharged state and don't reach full capacity on the first charge cycle. For the BeeTel 2000 series, it typically takes three to five full charge-and-use cycles before the pack delivers its rated 700mAh. Each cycle conditions the cell chemistry and aligns the crystal structure inside the electrodes. Don't judge the battery's performance on the first or second use — run it down through normal calls, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat. By cycle four or five, talk time should stabilise at the rated level.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BeeTel 2000 handset lost its pairing with the base station after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?
Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing data when power is fully interrupted. This is a handset firmware behaviour, not a fault with the new battery. Re-register the handset using the pairing button on the base station — on the BeeTel 2000, hold the base registration button for two seconds until the base LED flashes, then follow the on-screen prompt on the handset. Once re-paired, the handset will function normally.
The handset is fully seated in the base but the battery drains completely overnight — what's causing that?
If the battery drains while the handset sits in the base, the most likely cause is a poor contact between the handset's charge pins and the cradle. Even slight debris or oxidation on the gold contacts can interrupt the charge circuit while still letting the handset appear seated. Clean the contacts on both the handset and the cradle with a dry cotton swab, then reseat the handset and confirm the charge indicator lights up within 60 seconds. If drain continues, check that the cradle power adapter is drawing current — a dead adapter will leave the handset running entirely on battery with no top-up charge.
The BeeTel handset loses signal range much faster now than it did with the old battery — is the new pack faulty?
Reduced range after a battery swap almost always points to voltage sag under RF load rather than a faulty cell. When a NiMH pack is new or under-conditioned, its internal resistance is higher — voltage drops sharply the moment the radio transmitter fires, and the handset's RF output power falls with it. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to condition the pack and lower internal resistance. If range is still shorter than before after conditioning, measure the resting voltage at the battery terminals — a healthy 2.4V NiMH pack should read between 2.4V and 2.6V fully charged.
