Fits GE 25210, 25250, 27902, 27909 cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM battery 2.4V Ni-MH packs across 80+ GE DECT models.
2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers standard talk time on these handsets; voltage is baseline for GE base station charging circuits to recognize the pack.
Barrel connector, 43.55 x 20.42 x 10.60mm form factor; seats vertically into handset battery compartment with contact pins at bottom.
Bench testing showed normal BMS acceptance on GE base units; voltage stable under RF load with no charger rejection flags after first insertion cycle.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require slow charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GE 25210 / 27902 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH 700mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack for GE cordless phone handsets. It fits models including the 25210, 25250, 27902, and 27909, plus over 80 additional GE cordless handsets sharing the same form factor and voltage rail. When the original pack no longer holds a charge, this swap restores wireless operation.

  • GE 25210 / 27902 handset family: These models share a common 2.4V two-cell NiMH pack configuration, identical connector pitch, and the same BMS acceptance threshold at the base station cradle. One battery covers the range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a GE-series base cradle. The BMS accepted the pack without error, and the cell voltage held above the 2.2V cutoff under sustained RF transmit load.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it there for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones require a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step is the single most common cause of short talk time complaints.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship partially discharged and need three to five full charge-and-use cycles before they reach rated capacity. On the first cycle, talk time will be noticeably shorter than expected — this is normal cell conditioning, not a defect. Each full discharge and slow recharge through the base cradle builds available capacity. By cycle five, the pack should stabilise at or near the 700mAh rating.

Base station shows no-charge or error light after installing new pack

GE base stations check incoming cell voltage before starting the charge cycle. A new NiMH pack from storage can sit below 2.0V — low enough that the cradle's acceptance circuit flags it as a fault rather than a flat battery. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly. If the error persists, trigger a brief discharge by using the handset for a short call, then re-dock — this nudges the cell voltage into the cradle's acceptance window above 2.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GE cordless handset loses range after I swapped the battery — signal was fine before. What's happening?

NiMH voltage sags under the RF transmit load a cordless handset puts on the pack during a call. If the replacement cells haven't been through conditioning cycles yet, available voltage drops quickly and the handset pulls back transmit power to compensate — that's the range loss you're seeing. Run three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles through the base cradle first. Range typically recovers once the pack holds voltage above 2.2V under load.

My GE handset is draining completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — battery is nearly dead by morning.

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the cradle contacts, the base doesn't charge — but the handset's standby circuit keeps drawing from the pack all night. Check that the handset drops flush and the charge indicator light activates when you place it in the base. Clean the cradle contacts with a dry cloth if the light flickers — oxidised contacts break the charge circuit even when the handset looks seated correctly.

My GE 25210 handset lost its pairing to the base after I replaced the battery — it won't connect now.

Some GE DECT handsets store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power is fully removed, which happens during a battery swap. You'll need to re-register the handset to the base. On most GE models, hold the Find Handset button on the base for four seconds until the handset beeps, then follow the on-screen pairing prompt. Check the model-specific page in your handset manual if the button label differs.
