Fits Memorex YBT3N800MAH cordless phone handsets and replaces original 3.6V Ni-MH packs.
3.6V and 1300mAh capacity restores talk time and standby performance to original handset specifications.
Connector slides into handset battery slot with polarity marking — no locking tab, friction fit only.
We bench-tested the BMS on a DECT base station simulator — voltage held steady at 3.6V under RF transmit load, no cutoff errors.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless batteries require a slow first charge cycle to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Memorex YBT3N800MAH — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Memorex YBT3N800MAH cordless phone handset. It replaces the original pack when the handset can no longer hold a charge between uses. Capacity is 1300mAh — higher than the original 800mAh rating in the model number.

  • YBT3N800MAH handset fit: This pack matches the 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH configuration used in the YBT3N800MAH handset. The connector and cell arrangement align with the original battery compartment. No voltage mismatch means the base station charges it through the same charge circuit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH test fixture at 3.6V. The BMS accepted charge normally and cell balance stayed within spec across five full cycles. Capacity reached rated output by cycle three.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cordless phone batteries arrive partially discharged from storage and need one slow full charge to begin reaching rated capacity.

Talk time shorter than expected after swapping this battery in

Ni-MH cells do not deliver full capacity on the first charge cycle. The electrochemical pathways in new cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before capacity stabilises at the rated level. Running the handset until the low-battery indicator triggers, then returning it to the base for a full charge, completes one conditioning cycle. By cycle five, talk time should reflect the 1300mAh rating.

Base station charge light not coming on with new battery installed

Ni-MH batteries discharged during storage can drop below the voltage threshold the base station uses to detect a valid pack. If the base shows no charge light or an error indicator, the cell voltage is likely below the acceptance window. Remove the battery, let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes, then reseat it firmly in the handset and place it back on the base. If the base still does not respond, check the handset contacts are clean and that the pack is reading at least 3.0V with a multimeter before returning to the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Memorex cordless phone has noticeably shorter range after putting in the new battery — is something wrong?

Range reduction after a battery swap usually comes from voltage sag under RF transmit load. When a fresh Ni-MH pack hasn't been fully conditioned, its output voltage dips during the power burst the handset uses to maintain signal, and the transmit circuit backs off. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to build cell capacity, and the voltage under RF load will stabilise. If range is still reduced after five cycles, check the handset antenna connection — it can work loose during battery removal.

My handset won't pair with the base anymore after I replaced the battery — what happened?

Some DECT cordless phones lose their pairing registration when power is fully interrupted during a battery swap. The handset stores pairing data in volatile memory that clears without power. To re-pair, hold the handset's page or find button while pressing the registration button on the base unit — the exact button labels vary by model, but the base button is usually recessed on the underside. Once the handset shows "registered" or the base light stops flashing, the pairing is restored.

The handset battery is nearly dead by morning even though I left it in the base all night — why is it draining so fast?

Overnight drain in a docked handset usually means the handset is not making solid contact with the base charging pins. The standby current draw from the DECT radio and display runs entirely off the battery if the charge circuit isn't active. Remove the handset, wipe the gold charging contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset firmly until you feel it click or see the charge indicator light. Check the light is on solid — a flashing light on most Memorex bases means the charge circuit is not engaged.
