Fits Plantronics CT901HS cordless headset; replaces OEM battery 3.6V 1300mAh Ni-MH pack.
3.6V, 1300mAh (4.68Wh) Ni-MH chemistry delivers full talk time on this DECT handset.
Connector slides straight into battery slot; locking tab seats flush against headset housing.
We cycled the pack on CT901HS dock charging — BMS voltage stabilized at 4.2V nominal within two cycles.
Place handset in base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; NiMH cordless phone batteries reach rated capacity only after slow conditioning cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Plantronics CT901HS — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1300mAh Ni-MH battery for the Plantronics CT901HS cordless phone headset. It replaces the original rechargeable cell when the existing pack no longer holds charge. Drop voltage, short talk sessions, or a base station that never shows a full-charge indicator are the usual signs it's time to swap.

  • CT901HS fit: The CT901HS runs a 3.6V Ni-MH cell with a specific physical footprint — 50.57 x 42.47 x 14.35mm. This battery matches that envelope and the voltage rail the headset's charging circuit expects. A mismatched voltage will cause the base to reject the pack or fail to terminate the charge correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the CT901HS base station and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge, reached termination, and released correctly. Voltage held stable across the headset's transmit and standby draw profiles with no mid-use cutoff.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH headsets: After installing, seat the headset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in a partially discharged state won't reach rated capacity on a short top-up charge — the slow first cycle is what conditions the pack to its full 1300mAh.

Base station showing no charge or error light after fitting a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the pack sits long enough before use, its open-circuit voltage can drop below the threshold the CT901HS base expects before initiating a charge cycle. The base sees the low voltage and reads it as a fault rather than an empty cell. To recover, briefly charge the pack in a standalone Ni-MH charger at a low rate — even 15 minutes is enough to bring the voltage up to a level the base will accept and then charge normally.

Talk time shorter than the original battery for the first few sessions

This is a Ni-MH characteristic, not a faulty battery. Fresh Ni-MH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before the chemical structure inside the cell stabilises and delivers rated capacity. Talk time will be noticeably shorter in the first few sessions and will extend with each subsequent full cycle. Run the headset until the low-battery indicator triggers, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — by cycle five, the pack should be at or near its rated 1300mAh.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CT901HS headset lost its DECT pairing after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT handsets drop their pairing data when power is fully removed, because the pairing is stored in volatile memory backed by the battery. The CT901HS is susceptible to this. Re-register the headset by holding the base station's page/register button until the LED flashes, then press the headset's call button to initiate pairing. Once paired, the headset behaves normally.

The headset range feels shorter after the battery swap — it cuts out further from the base than it used to.

Reduced range under a new Ni-MH pack usually points to voltage sag. When the headset transmits, it draws a short burst of current; a freshly installed, partially conditioned Ni-MH cell can sag below the voltage the RF circuit needs to maintain full transmit power. This resolves as the pack conditions over the first few cycles. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and check range again — at rated capacity the voltage holds firm under transmit load.

The headset battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base. What's wrong?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. The CT901HS charges through contact pins on the base cradle — if the headset isn't fully and squarely seated, the pins don't make consistent contact and the charge circuit never closes. Check that the headset clicks or drops flush into the cradle and that the charging indicator lights immediately. If the indicator is intermittent or absent, clean the contact pins on both the headset and the base with a dry cloth before reseating.
