Nomad 24032X / 4126 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for Nomad cordless phone models 24032X and 4126. It replaces the original handset battery when capacity has dropped and the phone no longer holds a useful charge. Fits directly into the battery compartment of these handset models.

• 24032X and 4126 compatibility: Both models run the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH pack at the same form factor — 50.79 x 42.40 x 14.23mm. The connector pinout and battery bay dimensions are shared across this Nomad handset line, so one SKU covers both.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible test rig. The cell voltage held above 3.4V through the rated load draw, and the protection circuit responded correctly to full-charge termination.

Why the 24032X base station shows no charge light on a new NiMH pack

NiMH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the pack sits in a warehouse for several months, its resting voltage can drop below the threshold the base station uses to detect a valid battery. The charger circuit sees a voltage it doesn't recognise as a live NiMH cell and refuses to start the charge cycle. To recover it, hold the handset firmly seated in the base for 10–15 minutes — most Nomad base stations will eventually detect the low-voltage pack and begin a trickle pre-charge that brings it up to the acceptance threshold.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting the replacement pack

This is normal for the first three to five charge cycles on a new NiMH cell. The cell's crystalline structure hasn't fully formed, so it won't deliver the full 700mAh straight out of the box. Each complete charge and discharge cycle conditions the cell and incrementally recovers capacity. Run at least three full cycles — full 16-hour charge, then use the handset until it signals low battery — before judging whether the battery is performing to spec.
