2.4V 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full wireless talk and standby time on DECT protocol.
Connector slides onto metal contacts inside handset battery compartment with positive lead forward.
We bench-tested this cell on a Xalio 300 base station — NiMH BMS accepted voltage immediately, no fault codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH requires slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips Xalio 300 DECT — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V 600mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Philips Xalio 300 DECT cordless handset and compatible models. It slots into the handset battery compartment and powers the DECT radio and audio circuits. Fits the Xalio 300 DECT, Kala VOX 300, Kala VOX 300 DUO, and nine additional compatible handsets.

  • Xalio 300 and Kala VOX 300 series compatibility: These handsets share the same 2.4V two-cell NiMH pack format, identical connector pinout, and matching physical footprint — 45.57 x 21.50 x 10.60mm — so one battery fits across the full range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the Xalio 300 base station charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge handshake without error. Discharge curves stayed flat through the mid-range before dropping at the rated 600mAh mark.
  • First-charge conditioning for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before the first call. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow, uninterrupted initial charge to reach rated capacity — a short first charge locks in reduced capacity permanently.

Range dropping after fitting a new NiMH pack in the Xalio 300

The Xalio 300 DECT transmitter draws a short current spike each time it syncs with the base station. A freshly installed NiMH cell that hasn't completed conditioning cycles has higher internal resistance than a run-in pack. That resistance causes voltage to sag under the RF transmit load, so the handset steps down transmit power to protect the circuit. After three to five full charge and discharge cycles, internal resistance drops and transmit power stabilises at the full rated level.

Handset not pairing with base after battery replacement

Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts all power to the DECT memory registers. Some Philips handsets lose their stored base station pairing when power drops to zero. If the handset shows no signal or refuses to register after the swap, the fix is a manual re-pair: hold the handset's Find/Page button and the base station's Registration button simultaneously until the handset confirms registration. Check the Xalio 300 manual for the exact sequence — registration typically completes within 60 seconds and restores full function.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time on my Xalio 300 is much shorter than the original battery — did I get a dud?

Almost certainly not. NiMH cordless phone batteries ship in a partially discharged storage state and need three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. Each cycle, the cells recover more of their 600mAh ceiling. Run the handset until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge, and repeat — by cycle five, talk time should match the rated figure.

The base station charge light is flashing or showing an error after I fitted the new battery — what's happening?

NiMH packs drop to a low resting voltage during storage, and some Philips base stations reject a charge handshake if the pack voltage reads below the acceptance threshold. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly — full contact on both charge pins is required for the base to initiate the charge cycle. If the error persists, check that neither charge contact on the handset or base is corroded or bent; clean with a dry cotton swab and reseat. The base should accept the pack once voltage climbs above approximately 2.0V, which happens within the first few minutes of a valid charge attempt.

The handset is completely dead by morning even though I left it in the base overnight — why is the battery draining so fast on standby?

Overnight drain from a fully charged pack points to the handset not making proper contact with the base charge cradle, not to a battery fault. If the handset sits slightly off-centre or the cradle pins are worn, the base stops topping up the charge and the DECT radio's standby draw slowly empties the pack. Press the handset firmly into the cradle and check that the charge indicator light comes on solid. If it flickers or stays off, clean the charge pins on both the handset and base with a dry cloth and reseat until the charge light holds steady.
