Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

RCA F8011A / F8021A / F8031A / F8041A — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (CPP-519Z3)
This is a 3.7V, 500mAh lithium-polymer battery for the RCA F8011A, F8021A, F8031A, and F8041A cordless phone handsets. It replaces OEM part CPP-519Z3. All four models share the same handset platform, battery bay dimensions, and connector — one battery covers the entire series.
- F8011A–F8041A series fit: These four handsets run off the same PCB layout and battery connector. The cell footprint is 33.30 × 27.20 × 7.70mm — identical across all variants. No adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the F8031A handset. The BMS accepted charge from the base station cradle immediately, with no fault flags on the charge indicator.
- First-charge protocol for Li-Polymer handsets: After installing this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it there for a full charge cycle before first use. Li-Polymer cells in low-draw handsets come from storage at a partial state of charge — skipping this step will leave measured capacity short of the 500mAh rating on the first few uses.
Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement
Li-Polymer cells shipped in storage are typically held at 30–50% charge to protect the chemistry during transit. When you install and use the battery immediately, the handset draws from a partially depleted cell — talk time will feel shorter than rated. Place the handset in the base for a complete charge cycle before first use. Capacity stabilises within the first two to three full cycles, and the 500mAh rating is reached consistently from cycle three onward.
Handset not pairing with the base after battery swap
Removing the original battery cuts all power to the handset's DECT module, which can erase the pairing registration stored in volatile memory. The handset powers back on but the base station no longer recognises it. To re-pair, press and hold the registration button on the base unit until the LED flashes, then initiate handset registration from the handset menu — the exact button sequence is printed on the base station label. This is a one-time step after any full battery removal.

Frequently Asked Questions
My RCA cordless handset shows a full charge but goes dead much faster than it used to — is the new battery faulty?
Not faulty — this is normal for the first few cycles on a Li-Polymer cell that has been in storage. The battery ships at partial charge, and the handset's charge indicator reads voltage rather than true capacity, so it can show full before the cell has completed a proper charge cycle. Run two to three complete charge-and-discharge cycles with the handset seated in the base between each one. Capacity reaches the rated 500mAh reliably by the third cycle.
The base station charge light stays red or shows an error after I installed the replacement battery — what's wrong?
A Li-Polymer cell at low storage voltage can fall below the threshold the base station's charging circuit expects before it will begin a normal charge. Pull the handset out of the base, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly — the connector contact needs to be fully engaged. If the error light persists, check that the battery connector on the handset is clicked in flush, as a partial connection will register as a fault. Once the circuit sees voltage above approximately 3.0V, the base accepts the cell and switches to normal charge mode.
The handset works fine at home but drops calls when I move to the far end of the house — didn't happen with the old battery.
RF transmit power in DECT handsets scales with available cell voltage. A Li-Polymer cell that hasn't completed its first full charge cycle will sag in voltage under the RF transmit load, reducing effective range. Give the battery two full charge cycles in the base before testing range again. If the drop-off continues after conditioning, check that the handset antenna contact inside the battery bay is clean and making full contact — a residue layer on the contact pad is enough to cause voltage sag under load.
