Fits Hanseatic MIAMI cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM battery pack for MIAMI model units.
4.8V and 1800mAh capacity delivers full talk and standby time on DECT platform cordless phones.
Battery connector slides into handset slot with positive contact face forward; locking tab seats flush.
We bench tested this cell on a MIAMI base station — BMS accepted voltage immediately, no fault code on first insertion.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hanseatic MIAMI — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 4.8V, 1800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Hanseatic MIAMI cordless phone handset. It slots into the handset and restores power for portable calls around the home or office. Voltage and capacity match the original pack specification exactly.

  • MIAMI handset fit: The MIAMI cordless phone uses a 4.8V Ni-MH cell pack with this specific form factor — 56.75 x 48.82 x 14.62mm. The connector orientation and cell arrangement match what the handset's charging circuit expects, so the base station reads the pack correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS held voltage across the full discharge curve without early cutoff, and the handset's charge indicator responded normally through each cycle.
  • First charge after installation: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before taking your first call. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones need this slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping it shortens talk time from the start.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells don't deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle — or the second or third. The electrochemical pathways need three to five full charge-discharge cycles to reach 1800mAh. If talk time feels short straight after fitting, this is normal chemistry, not a faulty battery. Run the handset down to low battery and charge it fully in the base at least three times before judging capacity.

Base station charge light not activating with new battery installed

A Ni-MH pack sitting in storage drops below the voltage level the base station expects to see before it begins charging. Some DECT base stations won't engage the charge circuit if the incoming voltage reads too low. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, then reseat it firmly — the base needs a clean contact signal to re-check the pack. If the light still won't activate, confirm the handset contacts and base cradle contacts are clean and making full contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hanseatic MIAMI handset isn't pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — what happened?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, which causes some DECT phones to drop their pairing registration. The handset loses the stored link to the base when power is fully interrupted. Re-register the handset using the pairing or registration button on the base station — the exact steps are in the MIAMI manual, but typically you hold the base registration button for three seconds, then confirm on the handset.

The MIAMI handset is fully drained by morning even though I left it in the base overnight — is the battery faulty?

This is usually a seating issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make a reliable connection and the handset draws from the battery instead of the mains. Press the handset down until you feel or hear it seat, then check that the charge indicator light activates. If the light stays on and the battery still drains overnight, clean the metal contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth.

The MIAMI handset signal drops and calls break up near the edges of the house after fitting this battery — did something go wrong?

Reduced range after a battery swap usually means the Ni-MH pack hasn't completed its conditioning cycles yet. DECT transmit power requires a stable voltage — when a new Ni-MH pack is still building capacity in its early cycles, voltage sags under the RF load and the signal weakens. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and the voltage output will stabilise at the rated 4.8V, restoring normal transmit range.
