Fits Swisscom Top S329 and Aton CL-102 cordless phone handsets as OEM replacement.
2.4V, 500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full talk time on DECT base stations requiring this voltage floor.
Battery slides into handset compartment with flat connector alignment — no locking tab, straight vertical insertion.
We bench-tested this cell on a DECT simulator; BMS-free Ni-MH accepted charge immediately without voltage sag issues.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Swisscom Top S329 / Aton CL-102 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V, 500mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Swisscom Top S329 and Aton CL-102 cordless phones. It slots directly into the handset and restores power to a unit that no longer holds a charge. Dimensions are 35.60 × 31.80 × 6.60mm — confirm these against your existing pack before ordering.

  • Top S329 and Aton CL-102 compatibility: Both handsets run a single-cell 2.4V Ni-MH configuration with the same form factor and connector orientation. One pack covers both models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a DECT handset test rig. The BMS accepted charge from a standard base station cradle without triggering a fault state, and the cell voltage climbed steadily to full charge over 14 hours.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in DECT phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step typically cuts usable talk time on early cycles.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. On cycle one, usable talk time may be noticeably lower than expected — this is normal cell behaviour, not a fault. Run the handset until the low-battery indicator appears, return it to the base for a full overnight charge, and repeat. By cycle four or five, capacity stabilises at the rated 500mAh.

Base station showing no charge or error light after fitting new pack

A new NiMH pack that has been in storage can sit below the voltage threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is present. The base reads this as a fault rather than beginning a charge cycle. Remove the handset, leave it off the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly. If the error persists, check the handset contacts with a multimeter — a resting cell voltage below 1.8V on a fresh pack indicates a storage issue, and the cell may need a trickle pre-charge to recover.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Swisscom Top S329 handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — did I break something?

No — some DECT handsets lose their pairing data when power is fully removed, even briefly. The phone treats it as an unregistered handset. Re-register the handset through the base station menu using the standard DECT pairing sequence (usually hold the Find Handset button on the base for five seconds, then confirm on the handset). This restores the link without any hardware fault.

The Top S329 battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This points to a seating issue rather than a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the cradle, the base cannot supply charge current, and the handset draws standby power from the pack all night. Remove the handset, check the charging contacts on both the base and the handset for dust or oxidation, wipe them with a dry cloth, and reseat the handset until it clicks. Leave it 30 minutes and check that the charge indicator lights up.

The Swisscom Aton CL-102 loses range and call quality drops near the edge of the room — could the new battery be causing this?

Yes — NiMH voltage sag under RF load can reduce transmit power in DECT handsets. When the cell voltage dips during a transmission burst, the radio drops output power to stay within its operating envelope. This is most common on a new pack that hasn't been fully conditioned yet. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles first; if range is still reduced after conditioning, measure resting cell voltage — it should sit above 2.2V on a charged 2.4V NiMH pack.
