Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony SPP-10910 / SPP-900 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BP-T23)
This is a 3.6V, 2000mAh Ni-MH battery pack for Sony cordless phone handsets. It fits the SPP-10910, SPP-900, SPP-910, SPP-930, and over 39 additional Sony SPP-series models. The BP-T23 and BP-T93 are the OEM part numbers this pack replaces.
- SPP-900 series compatibility: These handsets share the same 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH format, the same connector orientation, and the same base station charge current profile — which is why one pack covers the entire SPP line from the 900 through the 930 and 10910.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the SPP base station charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge handshake without error. Discharge curves stayed flat through the midpoint before the expected Ni-MH voltage drop near depletion.
- First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Sony's SPP base stations deliver a slow trickle charge — cutting that short on a new Ni-MH pack means the cells never reach rated capacity on early cycles.
Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement
Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. Most users install the battery, make a few calls, and assume something is wrong — but the pack is still conditioning. Each cycle, the cells accept slightly more charge. By cycle five, capacity should be at or near the 2000mAh rating. Run full cycles without leaving the handset idle in the base for days between calls to get through the conditioning phase faster.
Base station shows no charge light or error indicator on a new pack
Ni-MH packs lose voltage during storage — if the pack voltage drops low enough, the SPP base station's charge circuit may not recognise it as a valid battery and won't initiate a charge. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly. If the base still shows no charge activity, check that the handset contacts are clean and making solid contact with the base pins. A brief trickle from a known-good charger at 100mA for 15 minutes can bring a deeply discharged Ni-MH pack back above the base station's acceptance threshold — typically around 3.0V for a three-cell pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Sony SPP handset is losing range after I put in the new battery — could the battery be causing this?
Yes — range drops when the handset's RF transmitter can't get enough sustained voltage under load. Ni-MH packs in early conditioning cycles sag more than a fully broken-in pack, and that voltage dip causes the transmitter to pull back power. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and range should stabilise. If it doesn't, check that the handset contacts and base pins are clean — a resistive connection causes the same sag under RF load.
The handset lost its pairing with the base station after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?
Some Sony DECT handsets drop their pairing data when power is fully removed during a battery swap. This is a handset firmware behaviour, not a fault with the battery. To re-pair, press and hold the FIND or PAGE button on the base for several seconds until the handset enters registration mode, then follow the on-screen or LED prompts to complete the pairing. The process takes under two minutes and the handset retains the new pairing as long as the battery stays installed.
The battery is draining completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?
A fully charged Ni-MH pack should show almost no discharge over 8 hours in standby when properly seated in the base. If it's draining overnight, the handset likely isn't making solid contact with the charging pins. Remove the handset, check that the base contacts aren't corroded or bent, and reseat it until the charge indicator light confirms it's charging. If the drain continues with confirmed contact, check whether the base station power adapter is supplying the correct output — the SPP base requires its rated voltage to sustain trickle charge through the night.
