Fits Toshiba EX3182 cordless phone handset; replaces OEM battery type for this model.
3.6V and 1200mAh capacity restore full talk time and standby duration on the EX3182 handset.
Connector slides onto handset contacts with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench tested this NiMH pack on a Toshiba base station charger; voltage climbed steadily and BMS accepted the cell without fault codes.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toshiba EX3182 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH battery for the Toshiba EX3182 cordless phone handset. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores talk time and standby capacity lost to cell degradation. No OEM part number exists for this pack — the EX3182 is the confirmed fit model.

  • EX3182 handset fit: The EX3182 runs a 3.6V Ni-MH cell block common to this generation of Toshiba DECT handsets. The voltage rail, cell arrangement, and connector match this handset's charging circuit directly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the EX3182 platform and confirmed the base station accepted the charge handshake without error lights. BMS behaviour remained stable across multiple cycles.
  • First-charge conditioning for Ni-MH: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells ship partially discharged and need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step will leave the pack under capacity from the start.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New Ni-MH cells do not deliver full rated capacity on the first cycle. The cells need three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles to reach 1200mAh. During this break-in period, talk time will be noticeably shorter than expected — this is normal cell behaviour, not a defect. Run the handset until it warns low, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat until capacity stabilises.

Base station shows no charge or flashes an error light after swap

Ni-MH packs lose voltage in storage — if the cell voltage drops below the base station's acceptance threshold, the charger circuit reads it as a fault and refuses to charge. Remove the handset, leave it out of the base for 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly. If the error persists, the pack may need a brief trickle charge via a compatible external charger to raise its voltage above the 3.0V acceptance floor before the base will take over.

Frequently Asked Questions

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones drop their pairing registration when power is fully removed, which happens during a battery swap. The fix is to re-register the handset manually — on most Toshiba DECT systems, press and hold the registration button on the base until it enters pairing mode, then follow the handset menu to re-register. Check the EX3182 manual for the exact button sequence, as the base button location varies by model. Once re-registered, the handset will reconnect to the base normally.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This points to the handset not making proper contact with the base charging pins, not a battery fault. Check that the handset is fully seated — a slight tilt or debris on the contacts can interrupt the charge circuit while the handset continues drawing standby current. Clean the gold contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat the unit, and confirm the charge indicator light activates. If the light does not appear, the contacts or the base charging circuit need attention.

Range dropped noticeably after fitting the new battery — is the battery causing it?

Yes, a weak or under-conditioned Ni-MH pack can cause this. The EX3182 handset's RF transmitter draws a surge of current during transmission, and if the battery voltage sags under that load, the radio reduces output power to compensate — cutting range. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles to bring the cells to rated capacity. If range is still short after conditioning, check that the battery voltage under load stays above 3.2V — a pack sitting below that under RF draw will not sustain full transmit power.
