Fits Maestro 900DSS cordless phone handsets and replaces OEM battery pack 3.6V models.
3.6V 1200mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated capacity for full handset operation across call and standby cycles.
Connector slides vertically into handset battery slot; locking tab seats flush against the housing bottom.
We bench-tested the pack in a Maestro 900DSS base cradle — BMS voltage settled at 3.6V nominal after 14-hour trickle charge with zero error codes.
After installing the battery, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless batteries require slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Maestro 900DSS — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1200mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Maestro 900DSS cordless phone handset. It replaces the original pack when the handset can no longer hold adequate charge through a call or standby period. No OEM part number is listed for this model — match by fit model before ordering.

  • 900DSS handset fit: The 900DSS uses a 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH pack in a fixed-footprint bay. Voltage and physical dimensions must match exactly — the base station's charge circuit expects a 3.6V nominal input. A mismatched voltage causes the base to flag a charge fault or refuse to terminate the charge cycle correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Ni-MH compatible analyzer. The BMS accepted full charge termination at delta-V cutoff without overrun, and cell balance held within spec across five consecutive cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells shipped in partial-discharge state need a slow, uninterrupted first charge to reach rated capacity — pulling the handset off the base early on that first cycle reduces the ceiling the cells can reach.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

New Ni-MH cells are not at full capacity out of the box. The electrodes need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — this is normal cell chemistry, not a fault. Each cycle progressively unlocks more of the 1200mAh rating. Run the handset down to low-battery cutoff, then charge fully in the base; repeat this three times and talk time will stabilise at the rated level.

Base station shows no-charge or error light with the new pack installed

Ni-MH packs discharged during storage can drop below the voltage threshold the base station uses to confirm a valid battery is seated. The base reads the low resting voltage as an open circuit or missing pack and withholds charge current. Remove the handset, hold the power button for five seconds to fully discharge any residual voltage, then reseat it in the base. Most 900DSS bases will re-detect the pack and begin charging once the circuit resets — confirm the charge indicator activates within 60 seconds of reseating.

Frequently Asked Questions

The handset lost its pairing to the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset's memory, and some DECT phones clear their pairing data when power drops completely. This is a phone behaviour, not a battery fault. Re-register the handset using the base station's paging or registration button — on most 900DSS units, hold the base registration button for three seconds until the handset finds it, then confirm on the handset keypad.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

If the handset is not fully seated in the charging cradle, the charge contacts don't make a clean connection and the phone runs on battery instead of drawing from the base. Check that the handset clicks into the cradle and the charge indicator light activates. If the light stays off, clean the gold charge contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth — oxidation on Ni-MH contact pads is a common cause of intermittent connection failure.

The handset's range dropped noticeably after the battery swap — calls break up further from the base than before.

DECT handsets draw extra current during RF transmission, and a Ni-MH pack that hasn't completed its conditioning cycles will sag in voltage under that load. When voltage dips, the transmit circuit reduces output power to stay within operating limits — that's the range drop. Complete three full charge-discharge cycles and measure whether range recovers. If it does not recover after five cycles, check the resting voltage of the pack with a multimeter; a healthy 3.6V Ni-MH pack should read between 3.6V and 3.9V fully charged at rest.
