Fits Uniden EXP10000 and EXP-10000 cordless handsets, replaces OEM battery BBTG0658001 and BT-1009.
2.4V nominal voltage with 850mAh capacity delivers full handset talk time on standard DECT systems.
Battery slides into handset compartment with spring-loaded contacts; no locking tab or connector required.
We bench-tested this Ni-MH pack on an EXP10000 base unit — BMS accepts charge immediately, voltage ramps steady, no fault light.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless batteries require slow first charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Uniden EXP10000 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BBTG0658001)

This 2.4V 850mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the original pack in the Uniden EXP10000 cordless phone handset. It matches the OEM voltage, capacity, and connector to restore full handset operation. Also cross-references as BT-1009.

  • EXP10000 and EXP-10000 compatibility: Both model designations are the same handset platform. They share the same 2.4V battery rail, connector pin-out, and charging circuit — this pack fits both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the EXP10000 charging circuit. The base station accepted charge without error, and the BMS held voltage within the handset's operating window across multiple discharge cycles.
  • First charge on Ni-MH cordless handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells at storage charge will not reach rated capacity on a short top-up cycle — the slow first charge is what brings the pack to full 850mAh.

Why the EXP10000 base station shows no charge on a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH batteries leave storage at a partial state of charge — often below 1.1V per cell. Some cordless phone charging circuits use a voltage threshold to detect battery presence before initiating charge. If the pack voltage is too low, the base reads it as absent or faulty. Placing the handset in the base for at least 30 minutes usually allows the trickle pre-charge stage to bring the cells above the acceptance threshold, after which normal charging begins.

Talk time noticeably short for the first few uses after fitting

Ni-MH cells need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. A new pack running short on the first day is not a fault — the cells have not yet been conditioned to their full 850mAh. Each complete discharge and slow recharge cycle brings capacity closer to the rated figure. Run the handset until it signals low battery, then return it to the base for a full charge — repeat this three times and talk time should stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions

The base station light stays red and never switches to green after I put the new battery in — is it stuck?

A new Ni-MH pack at storage voltage can sit below the base station's charge-acceptance threshold, causing it to hold on red or show a fault light. Leave the handset seated in the base undisturbed for 30–60 minutes — the trickle pre-charge stage will pull the cells above the threshold and normal charging will kick in. If the light still does not change after an hour, remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly. The base should then detect the battery at above 2.0V and begin the charge cycle.

My EXP10000 handset loses range near the edges of the house, but it was fine with the old battery — what's happening?

The EXP10000 handset maintains transmit power from the battery voltage rail. When a Ni-MH pack sags under RF load — common in the first few cycles before cells are conditioned — the handset cannot sustain full transmit output, and range drops. This is not a pairing or antenna fault. Run three full charge-discharge cycles to condition the 850mAh pack, and the voltage should hold more steadily under the transmit load.

The handset is losing most of its charge overnight just sitting in standby — is the battery draining too fast?

A Ni-MH battery left in the handset but not properly seated in the base will self-discharge overnight because it is not receiving the trickle top-up current the base normally provides. Check that the handset clicks fully into the cradle — a partial seat breaks the charging contacts. If it is seated correctly and still draining, the base charging pins may need cleaning with a dry cloth; oxidised contacts reduce charge current enough that standby draw overtakes what the base delivers.
