Fits Uniross cordless phone handsets using part number 88C, BC102910, CP002, CP52, or NC2046 battery slots.
Delivers 2.4V and 1200mAh capacity — standard output for DECT handset talk time on a single charge cycle.
Connector is direct-solder or proprietary contact pad; confirm orientation before seating the pack into the battery compartment of your handset.
We tested this cell on a standard charger cycle and confirmed the NiMH BMS accepted voltage ramp without early cutoff or fault signaling.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Uniross 88C — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (88C / BC102910 / CP002)

This is a 2.4V, 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Uniross cordless phone handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers 88C, BC102910, CP002, CP52, and NC2046. Voltage and cell format match the original pack exactly.

  • Multi-part-number coverage: These OEM part numbers share the same 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH configuration and connector pinout. Uniross used different part numbers across handset revisions, but the underlying cell pack is identical — same physical dimensions (50.25 × 28.09 × 14.41mm), same charge termination characteristics.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a cordless phone base station. The base station's charge circuit accepted the Ni-MH cells without error, delta-V cutoff triggered correctly at full charge, and the handset powered up cleanly across all test cycles.
  • First charge after installation: Place the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before using it. Ni-MH cordless phone packs ship partially discharged, and a slow first charge lets the cells reach rated 1200mAh capacity. Skipping this step typically results in shorter-than-expected talk time for the first few cycles.

Base station charging error light after fitting a new Ni-MH pack

Some Uniross base stations use a voltage threshold check before enabling the charge current. A new Ni-MH pack that has been in storage can sit below 2.0V open-circuit — low enough to trigger an error state instead of a normal charge cycle. The base is not faulty; it is rejecting a pack it reads as deeply discharged or shorted. Placing the handset in the base, removing it after 30 seconds, and reseating it can push the base through its detection cycle. If the error persists, measure the battery voltage directly — it should read above 1.8V before the base will accept it.

Range drops noticeably when the handset is away from the base

DECT transmit power draws a short current spike each time the handset sends a burst to the base. If the Ni-MH cells have not yet been conditioned through several full charge-discharge cycles, internal resistance is higher than spec and voltage sags under that RF load. The handset's transmit circuit sees a voltage dip and either reduces power output or drops the link entirely. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles first — internal resistance drops as the cells condition, and the voltage sag under transmit load reduces accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time is much shorter than the original battery — is the new pack faulty?

Ni-MH cells leave storage with elevated internal resistance, and rated capacity is not available until the cells have been cycled. For the first three to five charge-discharge cycles, talk time will be noticeably shorter than the original battery at its best. Run the handset down until the low-battery warning sounds, then return it to the base for a full charge — repeat this three times minimum. By cycle four or five, capacity should be at or close to the rated 1200mAh.

Handset lost its pairing with the base after the battery was removed to swap it — how do I fix this?

Some DECT cordless phones store pairing data in volatile memory that is held by the battery. Removing the battery clears that memory, and the handset comes back up unregistered. This is not a battery fault. Re-register the handset using the base station's registration button — on most Uniross bases, hold the registration button for three seconds until the base beeps, then follow the handset pairing sequence from the handset menu.

Battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what causes that?

This is almost always a seating issue rather than a battery fault. If the handset contacts are not making a clean connection with the base cradle, the base is not delivering charge current and the handset runs entirely off the battery in standby. Remove the handset, check the metal charge contacts on both the handset and the base for oxidation or debris, clean them with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset firmly. Confirm the charge indicator light activates within 10 seconds of reseating.
