Voltage 3.6V and 700mAh capacity restore talk time on this DECT handset after original NiMH ages.
Connector seats flush into the handset battery slot with no adapter or modification required.
We bench-tested this pack on a C4205 base unit; BMS accepted voltage within three charge cycles.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Clarity C4205 / C600 / W425 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Clarity C4205, C600, and W425 cordless phone handsets. All three models share the same battery bay geometry and voltage rail, so one pack covers the full set. Swap it in when the original pack no longer holds a charge between calls.

  • C4205, C600, and W425 compatibility: These three Clarity handsets run off the same 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH configuration with identical connector pinout and bay dimensions (45.60 × 31.30 × 10.60mm). The BMS on each model accepts the same charge termination signal, so no pairing or handshake step is required after installation.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Clarity handset base station and confirmed stable voltage delivery across standby and active RF transmission states. The BMS showed no false low-battery flag after the first full conditioning cycle.
  • First charge after installation: Seat the handset in the base immediately after swapping the battery and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Clarity cordless bases use a slow trickle charge optimised for Ni-MH — cutting that first cycle short leaves the pack 15–20% below rated capacity from the start.

Talk time shorter than expected on the C4205 after a new battery

Ni-MH cells in cordless phone packs don't reach rated capacity on the first charge cycle — this is normal cell chemistry, not a fault. The C4205 base delivers a slow 100mA trickle charge, which means the first three to five full cycles are needed before the cells reach their 700mAh ceiling. Each cycle should show a measurable improvement in talk time. By cycle five, capacity should stabilise at or near the rated 700mAh (2.52Wh).

Base station won't start charging after the battery swap

Ni-MH packs can self-discharge during storage, sometimes dropping below the voltage floor the Clarity base uses to detect a valid battery. If the base shows no charge light or an error state, the pack voltage is likely below 3.0V. Remove the battery, let it rest at room temperature for 10 minutes, then reseat the handset firmly in the base — some bases require full contact on all three charge pins to initiate the charge cycle. If the charge light still won't trigger, measure across the battery terminals with a multimeter; a reading below 2.8V means the pack needs a single slow top-up via a universal Ni-MH charger set to 100mA before the base will accept it.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Clarity handset lost pairing with the base after I replaced the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing data when power is fully interrupted. Re-register the handset through the base station's pairing or "register handset" mode — on most Clarity bases this means holding the page/find button on the base for five seconds until the LED flashes. Once the handset shows signal bars, the pairing is restored and the battery will charge normally.

The Clarity handset drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — is the battery faulty?

This is usually a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the base cradle, the charge pins don't make consistent contact and the handset runs on battery power all night instead of drawing from the base. Check that the handset sits flush with no gap at the bottom of the cradle, and confirm the charge indicator light comes on within 30 seconds of seating it.

Range dropped noticeably after swapping the battery — calls cut out further from the base than before.

A partially conditioned Ni-MH pack sags under the RF transmit load the DECT radio pulls, dropping below the voltage the handset needs to sustain full transmit power. This is most obvious in the first one or two cycles before the cells reach rated capacity. Run three full charge-and-use cycles with the handset fully discharged before each recharge, and check range again — transmit power should stabilise once the pack holds above 3.4V under load.
