Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Verge V58CID / V58HS / V58ITA — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery
This is a 3.6V 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Verge V58CID, V58HS, and V58ITA cordless handsets. It restores talk time and standby capacity when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge. Dimensions are 45.60 × 31.30 × 10.60mm — confirm these match your existing pack before ordering.
- V58 series handset fit: The V58CID, V58HS, and V58ITA all run the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH pack on a shared voltage rail with identical connector geometry. One battery covers all three models.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the V58CID platform. The cell accepted a full charge from the base station without triggering a charging fault, and voltage held stable under RF transmit load.
- First charge on NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour uninterrupted charge before first use. NiMH cells shipped in storage discharge need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping this step leaves you with noticeably shorter talk time from day one.
Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement
NiMH cells do not deliver rated capacity on the first cycle out of the box. Storage discharge leaves the cell partially passivated, and it takes three to five full charge-and-use cycles before the chemistry reaches full capacity. Do not judge the battery on the first day. Run the handset down to low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — by cycle four or five, talk time should be at or near rated output.
Base station shows no charge or error light after swapping the battery
A NiMH pack that has sat in storage can drop below the voltage threshold the base station expects before it initiates a charge cycle. Some Verge base stations will show a fault light or simply not register the handset as charging. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly — the base needs a clean contact to sense the pack. If the fault persists, check that the contacts on both the handset and cradle are clean and making full metal-to-metal contact; oxidised contacts block the low-current trickle needed to bring a depleted NiMH cell back up to the charge acceptance threshold of around 1.0V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Verge V58CID handset lost its pairing with the base after I replaced the battery — how do I get it back?
Removing the battery cuts all power to the handset, and some DECT cordless phones drop their pairing data when power is fully removed. The fix is to re-register the handset at the base station. On most Verge base stations, hold the paging or find button on the base for several seconds until the registration tone sounds, then follow the handset menu to register — the process takes under two minutes.
The handset is draining overnight even when it's sitting in the cradle — is the new battery faulty?
This is almost always a seating issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset is not fully clicked into the cradle, the charge contacts do not make consistent contact and the battery slowly discharges on standby draw instead of trickle charging. Press the handset firmly into the base until you feel it seat, then check the charge indicator light confirms an active charge. If the handset still drains after confirmed full seating, clean the cradle contacts with a dry cloth — even a thin film of dust can break the low-current charge path.
After the battery swap, the V58CID's range seems shorter than it was — what's causing that?
Reduced range after a battery swap usually points to voltage sag under RF transmit load. When a NiMH pack has not been fully conditioned, its internal resistance is higher, and the voltage drops noticeably when the transmit circuit draws current. This sag reduces the power the RF section can sustain, which cuts effective range. Run three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles to condition the cell — internal resistance drops as the chemistry normalises, and transmit voltage should stabilise above 3.4V under load.
