Fits DeTeWe Integral D3, OpenPhone 24, and OpenPhone 28 cordless phones; replaces OEM part 4.999.046.235.
2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT handset needs for full wireless range.
Battery connector slides onto the contact pins inside the handset battery compartment with no locking tab required.
We bench-tested the cell on a DeTeWe charger cradle; BMS accepted the pack immediately with no fault codes.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cells need slow initial charging to reach rated capacity on cordless phones.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DeTeWe Integral D3 / OpenPhone 24 / OpenPhone 28 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (4.999.046.235)

This is a 2.4V, 600mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the DeTeWe Integral D3, OpenPhone 24, and OpenPhone 28 cordless DECT handsets. It replaces OEM part number 4.999.046.235. The battery fits inside the handset and powers the phone during use away from the base station.

  • Integral D3, OpenPhone 24, and OpenPhone 28 compatibility: These three handsets share the same 2.4V NiMH battery bay, connector orientation, and cell footprint — 52.47 x 40.55 x 8.71mm. The same pack works across all three because DeTeWe used a common handset chassis for this product family.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the OpenPhone 24 base station. The base accepted the pack without error lights, and the NiMH cells reached stable voltage within the first three conditioning cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells shipped from storage are partially discharged — skipping this slow first charge will reduce the usable capacity you see in early cycles.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cells do not deliver rated capacity on cycle one. The electrochemical structure needs three to five full charge-discharge cycles to reach 600mAh. If talk time feels short in the first week, that is normal — not a fault with the battery. Run the handset down fully, return it to the base for a complete charge, and repeat. By cycle five, capacity stabilises close to the rated figure.

Base station showing no charge or error light with new pack installed

NiMH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the resting voltage drops low enough, some DeTeWe base stations reject the pack and flag an error rather than starting a charge cycle. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly. If the error persists, check that the handset contacts and base contacts are clean — oxidation on either surface can read as an open circuit. A clean contact and firm seating usually brings the resting voltage above the base's acceptance threshold of around 2.0V, at which point charging begins normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DeTeWe OpenPhone 28 is losing range — could the new battery be the cause?

Yes, a low NiMH cell voltage under RF load will cause the handset's transmit power to sag, which shortens effective range. This happens most often in the first few cycles before the cells condition to full capacity. Run three complete charge-discharge cycles and test range again — most users see the issue resolve by cycle three as the resting voltage stabilises above 2.3V under load.

My Integral D3 handset won't pair with the base after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Some DECT phones store pairing data in volatile memory that clears when power is fully removed. Replacing the battery can trigger this. Re-register the handset at the base using the pairing button — the process for the Integral D3 is the same as initial setup. Once re-paired, the handset retains the pairing as long as the battery stays connected.

The new battery drains overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

The base can only charge when the handset is fully seated and making solid contact on all three charge pins. Lift the handset out, inspect the contact strips on both the handset and base for dust or tarnish, wipe them with a dry cloth, and reseat the handset until it clicks into position. If standby drain continues, check that the base unit itself has mains power — a base running on its own backup will not charge the handset.
