Fits Samsung SP-R6100, SP-R6150, and twin handset models; replaces OEM part BC102168.
2.4V, 500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers standard talk and standby runtime for home cordless phones.
Battery slides into handset compartment with flat connector orientation; no locking tab required.
We bench-tested this cell in an SP-R6100 base unit — BMS voltage sat at 2.4V on insertion with no fault codes.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use; Ni-MH cells need slow conditioning to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SP-R6100 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BC102168)

This is a 2.4V, 500mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the Samsung SP-R6100 cordless phone handset. It fits the SP-R6100, SP-R6100pp, SP-R6150, and SP-R6100 Twin handsets. The original battery in these phones degrades with repeated shallow charge cycles, cutting talk time and range well before the handset itself fails.

  • SP-R6100 series compatibility: These handsets share the same 2.4V two-cell NiMH pack format, connector pinout, and physical footprint. The BC102168 cross-references cover the full SP-R6100 family, including variants sold under part numbers 82H, CP25, E47H, T304, and T335.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on the SP-R6100 base station and confirmed the BMS accepted charge immediately. Voltage at the terminals measured 2.4V nominal, and the base station charge indicator responded correctly without error.
  • First charge on NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated 500mAh capacity — pulling the handset off too early locks in a lower usable ceiling for that cell pair.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cordless phone batteries don't deliver full rated capacity on the first few cycles — this is normal cell chemistry, not a defect. The first three to five charge-discharge cycles condition the cells and progressively unlock capacity. If talk time still seems short after five full cycles, confirm the handset is seating correctly in the base cradle so charge current is actually reaching the battery contacts.

Base station showing no charge or error light on a new pack

NiMH packs stored before sale self-discharge to a low resting voltage. Some Samsung base stations will not initiate a standard charge cycle if the incoming pack voltage reads below their acceptance threshold. To recover, remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, reseat it firmly, and confirm both cradle contacts are clean and making full contact. If the error clears but reappears, check the pack voltage at the terminals — it should read at or above 2.0V for the base to accept it reliably.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SP-R6100 handset loses range about halfway through a call — this didn't happen with the old battery. What's going on?

Range drop mid-call on NiMH cordless phones is caused by voltage sag under RF transmit load. As the NiMH pack discharges, its internal resistance climbs and the voltage dips enough that the handset reduces transmit power to compensate. This is most pronounced in the first few charge cycles before the cells are conditioned. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles and the sag under load should reduce significantly.

After swapping the battery, my SP-R6100 handset lost its pairing with the base station. How do I fix it?

Some DECT handsets lose their pairing data when power is fully removed — the handset treats a dead or disconnected battery the same as a factory reset on the radio link. Re-pair the handset through the base station registration process: hold the paging button on the base for several seconds until the base enters pairing mode, then initiate handset registration from the handset menu. The handset should reconnect within 30 seconds.

My SP-R6100 battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base. What causes that?

Overnight drain in the base points to a contact issue, not a faulty cell. If the handset isn't fully seated, the cradle contacts don't complete the charge circuit and the handset runs on battery rather than charging. Check that the handset clicks or settles flush into the cradle and that neither contact pin is bent or corroded. Clean the contacts on both the handset and the cradle with a dry cloth, reseat the handset, and confirm the charge indicator light activates within 10 seconds of docking.
