Fits HBC Radiomatic Eco and Linus 6 remote controls; replaces OEM part BA225000 and equivalents Hub05AA, FuB05AA.
6V 2000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the full voltage swing needed for solenoid actuation on industrial hoists.
Connector slides onto the existing contact block with a single locking tab; orientation marked on housing.
Bench test showed clean voltage ramp on first charge cycle; BMS engaged at 5.8V cutoff as specified.
For remotes stored dormant between jobs, charge monthly even if unused — Ni-MH cells self-discharge and lose activation capability when depleted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HBC Radiomatic Eco / Linus 6 / Technos — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BA225000)

This is a 6V 2000mAh Ni-MH battery for HBC Radiomatic crane and hoist remote controls. It fits the Radiomatic Eco, Linus 6, Technos, and Spectrum A series. It replaces OEM part numbers BA225000, BA205000, BA206000, BA225030, and several FuB-series codes.

  • Radiomatic platform fit: The Eco, Linus 6, Technos, and Spectrum A share the same 6V cell architecture, connector pinout, and physical housing dimensions — 82.30 x 56.90 x 24.40mm. One cell swap covers all four platforms without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through solenoid-activation loads on the Radiomatic Eco. The BMS held stable across repeated relay inrush events without tripping cutoff or registering false low-battery flags.
  • Monthly charge during idle storage: Crane remotes often sit unused between projects for weeks or months. Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 20–30% per month at room temperature. Charge the battery once a month during downtime — cells discharged below their recovery threshold will not respond to a standard charger cycle.

Solenoid activation causing power dropout on a freshly installed battery

When a crane solenoid or relay energises, it draws a sharp inrush current that can spike two to three times the steady-state load. If the battery is at partial charge, its internal resistance is higher and terminal voltage dips sharply during that spike. Some Radiomatic BMS boards interpret this dip as a depleted cell and cut output. Charge the replacement battery fully before the first operational use — a battery at storage voltage will not handle inrush loads the same way a fully charged cell will.

Remote shows low battery immediately after new cell is installed

A fresh Ni-MH cell ships at storage voltage — typically 5.4–5.6V on a 6V pack. The Radiomatic firmware reads this as low and flags it before the battery has been conditioned. This is not a defective cell. Connect the battery to its charger for a full charge cycle before powering on the remote. After one full charge the voltage should read at or above 6.0V and the low-battery indicator will clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HBC Radiomatic Eco remote won't turn on after sitting unused for three months — is the new battery dead on arrival?

It is almost certainly a deep-discharge BMS lockout, not a defective cell. Ni-MH packs left uncharged for months can drop below the BMS recovery threshold and refuse to respond to a standard power-on attempt. Connect the battery to the HBC charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before trying to power on the remote — this gives the BMS enough current to re-initialise and accept a full charge cycle.

The crane remote cuts out mid-operation right when the hook load engages — it was fine before the battery swap.

Solenoid and relay activation draws a high inrush current spike that causes terminal voltage to sag on a partially charged cell. The Radiomatic BMS reads that sag as a depleted pack and shuts output to protect the circuit. Charge the replacement battery to a full 6.0V before operational use — a cell at storage voltage cannot sustain the inrush load without tripping cutoff.

After replacing the battery, E-stop response feels slower than it was with the original pack — is this a firmware issue or a battery issue?

E-stop response time on the Radiomatic platform is voltage-dependent — the control circuit needs stable voltage to trigger the safety relay at full speed. A cell that hasn't been fully charged will show reduced voltage under load, which adds latency to the safety circuit response. This is not a firmware fault. Charge the battery to a full 6.0V and retest E-stop timing before returning the remote to safety-critical crane operations.
