Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

XTOOL PS2 Heavy Duty Truck Diagnostic Tool — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (PL3769124 2S)
This 7.4V 4000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the XTOOL PS2 Heavy Duty Truck Diagnostic Tool and PS2 GDS Gasoline scanner. At 29.6Wh, it matches the OEM capacity specification. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the device shuts down mid-session.
- PS2 HD and PS2 GDS compatibility: Both the Heavy Duty Truck and GDS Gasoline variants of the PS2 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single cell covers both platforms.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the PS2 platform. The BMS accepted the pack without error flags, voltage regulation held steady across the display and wireless modules, and the charge circuit terminated cleanly at 8.4V.
- Export vehicle data before swapping: The PS2 stores active vehicle profiles and session logs in RAM backed by the main battery. Pull the battery without exporting first and that data is gone. Use the PS2's export function to push all profiles to a USB drive or paired PC before removing the old cell.
Why the PS2 drops its wireless link during live data streaming
The PS2's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules draw a short current spike when maintaining a live data stream to a PC or tablet. When the battery sags below roughly 6.8V under that load, the wireless subsystem loses enough voltage headroom to hold the link. The screen may still show a charge bar because the display driver cuts off at a lower threshold than the radio. Fitting a fresh 4000mAh cell restores the voltage margin the radio needs to stay connected through an entire diagnostic session.
PS2 screen dimming before the battery indicator shows low
The PS2 display backlight driver is voltage-sensitive and begins stepping down brightness when cell voltage drops below approximately 7.0V — several percentage points before the on-screen battery gauge triggers a low warning. If the screen dims noticeably during use but the battery icon still reads above 20%, the cell has aged enough that its resting voltage no longer reflects its true state under load. Confirm this by reading cell voltage under load with a multimeter at the battery connector — a healthy cell at half charge should hold above 7.2V. Replace the cell if voltage sags below 7.0V with the scanner active.

Frequently Asked Questions
The PS2 won't turn on after I fitted the new battery — did I get a faulty cell?
Almost certainly not. Li-Polymer cells ship in a storage state, typically around 3.7–3.8V per cell, which can sit below the PS2's minimum boot threshold of roughly 7.2V combined. Connect the scanner to its charger for at least 20 minutes before attempting to power it on — the BMS needs enough charge to release the boot lockout. If the device still won't start after a full charge cycle, check that the battery connector is fully seated and the locking tab has clicked.
I swapped the battery and all my saved truck profiles disappeared — is there a way to recover them?
No recovery is possible after the fact. The PS2 holds vehicle profiles and session history in RAM that is powered directly by the main battery. The moment you disconnect the old cell, that data clears. Before any future swap, open the PS2's data management menu and export all profiles to a USB drive or a connected PC. The export takes under two minutes and the files can be re-imported immediately after the new battery is fitted and the device boots.
The PS2 shuts off mid-scan when I'm pulling live data from a heavy truck ECU — the battery shows 40% charge. What's happening?
Heavy truck ECUs push large data payloads over the diagnostic link, and the PS2's processor, screen, and wireless radio all spike current simultaneously during that transfer. A degraded original cell — or a new cell that has not completed its first full charge — can sag below the BMS cutoff voltage under that combined load even when the gauge reads mid-range. Charge the new cell to 100% before running a live data session. If the shutdown persists, measure cell voltage at the connector while the scan is active — anything below 6.8V under load confirms the cell is not delivering rated capacity and should be exchanged.
